Hello and welcome to my lore shop! Writing is a favorite pastime of mine, dragons are another, and it seemed like a good idea to combine the two. The lore that I write for FR is character-focused and takes the form of scenes or short stories. Links to examples can be found in the bio of Gos here.I am offering three levels of writing: brief impression of a character, vignette, or short story. (Long stories like the one in Jager’s bio take me ages, so I am not offering those at this time.) I can write in third-person or first-person POV. Although dragons tend to lend themselves to fantasy and all of my examples are in that style, I can also write science fiction. However, all stories will take place within the FR world.
One thing I’ve found is that I don’t work very well in a vacuum: I need at least a starting impression from the owner of the dragon. Please tell me a few things about your dragon, whether it’s their personality, their job, how they feel about their familiar/neighbor/friend/relative, likes and dislikes … that sort of thing. From there I will generate some ideas, run them by you in a PM, and if you like them then I’ll run with them.
I do have a demanding full-time job, and that can affect my writing speed. I can usually finish one order within 3 weeks. If I find myself getting stuck I will reach out to the customer via PM to bounce ideas back and forth. I am happy to share progress updates with my customers whenever they ask. If for some reason I cannot complete a project, I offer a full refund. If however I have shared the full text of a partially finished piece with the customer, then the refund will be 50%.
General:
• What I will write: Humorous, serious, light, or dramatic pieces
• What I won’t write: Anything that violates FR’s Terms of Service and Code of Conduct, graphic violence, evil or cruel characters, tragic/depressing storylines
• Please do not post my work anywhere other than on FR
• Please credit the lore to me. I would greatly appreciate it if you link back to this shop or my profile, but this is not required.
• I reserve the right to refuse a commission without explanation, and the right to post commissions as examples of my work.
• Please post all orders in this thread, and ping me. I do not accept orders by PM.
• When I start a commission, I will post in the thread and ping the customer. If I have any questions, I will follow that up with a PM. Likewise, if the customer has any additional questions, concerns, or things they would like to add, please do that via PM.
• While I am fine with minor changes, please do not make major changes to the story guidelines you provided in your order once I’ve started writing.
• When the lore is finished, I will notify the customer via a ping in the thread and PM. When the remainder of the payment is received, I will send the customer the lore via PM.
• At this point in time I do not offer coding. This is mostly because I am very bad at it; it takes me ages, and would add too much time to the completion of a piece. I feel it’s better to have the customer take the text of the lore, and code it according to their own preference.
• This shop will not be open all of the time; work and life in general are expected to interfere now and then. If I need to close for a while, I will update the status in the first post, along with a schedule for re-opening if I know when that will be. Upon reopening, I will ping the first person on the waiting list.
Slots:
• I will open up two slots at a time, first come first served, one slot per dragon. If I’m able to turn out lore quickly, I may open additional slots.
• If you are interested in lore but the slots are full, please ping me in the thread. I will keep track of everyone who has shown interest. When a slot opens up, I will ping the next person on the list. They will have 24 hours to respond. If I don’t hear back from them, I will ping the next person on the list, and so on.
Rates:
• My rate is 15kt per 100 words. I will happily accept gems at a ratio of 1g per 1200 treasure. Item swaps are available on a limited basis, and my wishlist is kept by Feilong. I’ll be basing item prices off of the AH. For skins and accents on this list, value is based on the creator’s print price if they are still being printed; if they are out of print, I will base prices on the AH.
• Customers have two options: to request a piece by specific length, or by category. When a customer requests a piece of a specific length, such as 200 words, I will stay within that length. If a customer requests a piece according to category, such as vignette, I will stick to that word range but the length may be anywhere within that range.
• I offer up to three rewrites at no additional charge: this includes editing, modification of minor character details, and changes in length. It does not include total changes in plan that would require tossing the old piece and starting over.
• Before starting I will need a down payment of 10% of the total in a 1-way Crossroads. When the writing is complete, I will request the remainder of the payment.
• Rates are subject to change without notice. If a rate change occurs while I am working on a commission, I will honor the original price rate for that commission.
