Purgatory is a familiar sight by now.

It's almost comforting to be here, Hank thinks, especially when it hasn't yet detected that it's him who's here. It's usually quicker about it, but then, he supposes he's changed a lot since the last time he was sent here. He's... not quite a mirror anymore, after all. He's not quite any recognizable species anymore, with his buldging, muscled, spiky right arm, or the unnatural lightning he can summon.

MAGnification is on helluva transformation, even when botched.

It's almost strange not to see hordes upon hordes of summoned enemies coming his way, even if he can hear the moans and screams of those wasting away in here. No Retainers yet either, which he can't decide if it's a good thing or if it's disappointing.

He's gotten quite good at tearing them apart, after all, and that was before he got his little upgrade.

Hank hops from one end of a floating rock to the next, beating his wings as he casually continues his journey. He's not exactly trying to hide himself, but he's not making a ruckus either. Still no attackers. How strange.

Perhaps it's for the better, even if it is disappointing. He's gonna need all the strength he can get, and honestly, he wants to go all out when he reaches his destination.

See, Purgatory is a funny place. Intricately connected to Sornieth, as well as other realities, it's not too weird to accidentally see something that's not of this worlds wandering around. It's semi-sentient, almost like its own entity, yet depending on where you are, it may act wildly different to achieve its goals (which is to delete the beings that end up in it, usually). It's almost like different parts of Purgatory are controlled by different minds, influenced by different 'rulers', of sorts.

That's because that is pretty much exactly the case, according to Doc.

... Or that's how Hank understands it, anyway. He doesn't really care for the full explanation, because that kinda stuff really doesn't matter to him. What does matter is that a certain Employer, who has been a pain in his tail for far too long is part Purgatory. All the Employers are, actually, but it's just this one that matters. To Hank, at least.

He's going to tear the Auditor apart from the inside out, and he's going to enjoy it.

Thing is, the bodies of the Employers make up parts of Purgatory. Hank's seen it for himself, when Tricky possessed the Auditor, and took over his body. When he used it to absorb Hank and Sanford into Auditor's part of Purgatory, and wreak havoc. The damage Tricky did with just a little while inside of Auditor by just manipulating the place was noticable, enough that Auditor needed Hank's help to drive him out.

Now, what would happen if one were to intentionally wreck the place, hm? What if one were to... oh, Hank doesn't know, destroy that part of Purgatory?

What would happen then?

Well, Hank doesn't really care too much about the logistics. He thinks it's going to work, and he's looking forward to putting that shadowy egomaniac in his place. Ever since the realization settled in, Hank's been thinking about this. He wants to do this, and he's going to enjoy it.

(Doc doesn't think it'll work. Even now, Hank keeps seeing posters calling him an idiot and to sit still so he can retrieve him. Oops. Sorry Doc, not gonna listen today. He came here willingly this time, and he's not leaving just yet.)

Could he have taken backup with him in the form of the rest of the team? (outside of Doc, because Doc is a nonbeliever) Sure. But, considering what happened last time when Sanford was dragged into Purgatory with him, and the way Deimos looks now...

It's not that they can't take care of themselves, but they're clearly not made to be in Purgatory for as long as Hank is. They don't understand how it works as well as he does, and he can't do that to them risk that.

The landscape starts shifting around him, but Hank pays it no heed. That's just what happens in Purgatory, so why should he? He continues on, hitching a ride on a metallic chain that shoots out from a nearby wall.

The atmosphere feels heavier with every step. Something feels like it's looming in the distance, crying out in a primal anger. The earth rumbles and groans, unstable. A crack opens from the wall, and from it, a soldat tumbles out, followed by another. And another. And another. Spikes jut out from behind him, rapidly approaching.

If he still had the muscles to do so, Hank would grin. He rises onto his hind legs, flaring his wings and flexing his unnatural claws, electricity sparking from his arm.

Time to smash some skulls.
