SHERIFF
{ sheh-ruff }
Nicknames: ???
• Leader of MERC/Man-made law

Blasting Powder Reinforced Rope
Snakeskin Ashen Lightning Glass
Corroded Iron Nugget Coarse Tail Hair
╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮
The Sheriff
Locknar - Deputized
╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯
The leader of a group called MERC, whose headquarters reside in Nexus City, though they do have units outside the city as well. The Sheriff, real name unknown, is, in essence, hired muscle- or at the very least, the distributor of hired muscle. Though you better not underestimate him either; he's a tough man, and if you cross him, you better shoot to kill- lest you wake up with a revolver to your head at night.

All that said, however, the Sheriff is essentially the man-made law around Nexus City, Nexus Core goons notwithstanding. He offers protection to people, and tries to keep Nexus City at least somewhat safe, knowing of the horrors most common folk don't. He also somewhat acts as the bridge between the normal, daily life of the Phobos-loving Nexus inhabitants, and the dark, seedy underbelly of the city. He has ties to Jebediah Christoff, who wants to take Phobos down, providing him with the essentials to survive. He takes care that it doesn't become known, though; his faction is at least somewhat protected by Phobos for now, in exchange for manpower, he lets them do their own little thing, and live in the city. To be completely fair, all the Sheriff wants is to keep his people safe.

Before settling in Nexus City, the Sheriff had his own little town that he ran- the very town Hank J. Wimbleton comes from, and started his infamous career as "professional murderer". (In all fairness, you too would be murderous if you'd had the string of unlucky- or maybe downright unfair life happenings Hank had had up to that point, and let's be real, that guy who refused to turn down his music was just the last straw in a series of unfortunate events- but let's not get off track, here). By crossing Hank right before he went on his first murderous rampage, as well as putting out a bounty for him, he essentially painted a target on his own back. Though he thought he was safe when his bodyguards killed Hank for him, it was then that the assassin also crawled back from the dead for the first time- out of pure spite for the Sheriff. In essense, it's the Sheriff's fault Hank is still around; if he didn't hate the Sheriff as much as he did at the time, he likely wouldn't have found the determination to cheat death.

Hank did manage to kill him- though still unexperienced, Hank also managed to get himself killed again. By some miracle, however, the Sheriff was picked up by the people in Nexus City, and subsequently revived, leaving him with a faceful of scars- but, at least, alive. It's unknown how he managed to cobble together MERC after that, but after that harrowing experience, the Sheriff has become rougher and tougher than ever. Secretly, he is still looking for revenge against Hank, but for now, he'll happily stay in Nexus City.

As a final note, despite his tough attitude, the Sheriff is a bit of a coward. There's a reason he didn't confront Hank directly, despite wanting him dead so bad. He loves hiding behind his goons, and hoping that they do the dirty work for him. Not that he can't take care of himself, but, well. Can't blame a man for being cautious.
