______ Mournful is a quiet and thoughtful strategist, they are always calculating and assessing what should be done next. They are formidable in battle, using fears quick thinking to plan out the best course of action before executing it perfectly. They are conservative in their movements and energy, after having been in survival mode for most of its life. They have a quick wit and dry tongue that has led them to be quite popular among their peers.

______ Their life has never been particularily easy, though. They were abandoned at a young age, as is common for many avariels, and grew up in the alleys and streets of Waterdeep. They became somewhat known for their skills in poison and curses, leading them to often be hired as an assassin for other organisations {or on the rare occasion, individuals}. While living in the shadows of Waterdeep they gained the attention of the Shadow Guild where fear found the companionship of their members. While working under the Shadow Guild

______ Mournful left the shadows of Waterdeep to study the art of magic elsewhere and eventually stayed in the Arcane Flight for some time, where they met Zyra, a young and talented astronomer who had been gifted with the ability to map the night sky and use those maps to tell stories. Mournful became fascinated with Zyra's studies and eventually helped it out with eir maps and predictions. The two of them soon met Mishka, a devout soldier of the Plaguebringer. While Mishka was staying with them, both Zyra and Mournful helped to ease Mishka's torment and chronic pain. They became quite close with him and eventually Mishka offered them a place in his faction. The two accepted and now both work in the observatory.

______ Today, Mournful flits between both their station as a Commander of the Gutless Faction and their station as a member of the Shadow Guild. They reside mostly in the wasteland the Gutless Faction calls home, but still often makes the trip to see its past friends. In the Gutless Faction, Mournful is entrusted with organising and leading scout parties, alongside supporting Phyress who they are now teaching and preparing to meet the shadowguild.
