First arrived at Wanderin lair with an already-filled-in boilerplate residency application, five-year financial record providing his average earnings, three nonfamilial professional references that included letters of recommendation, concrete examples of his skill in bookbinding and herbalism, and a detailed family tree proving an eight-degrees-removed relation to current resident Hodgepodge.

As the lair's only other medical specialist was Crank the backbreaking masseur, an herbalist made a welcome alternative, and as the lair was already filled with varyingly itinerant or permanent craftsdragons of unusual stripes, a bookbinder fit right in (and is more useful than, say, turtle painting).

And as the only actual requirement to stay is to wear a distinctive hat (which Doodlebug is always happy to provide), there was no reason to deny him entry, even though Hodge thinks carrying around a ready copy of your lineage is seriously weird. (And why would a relation of hers come from the Ashfall Waste?)

No one quite knows what to make of him, but his work is meticulous, Hodge can't fault the care he gives books, the paper makers are happy to do business and his decocting never smells any worse than Principia's tanning does.

Re'em has a demonstrated practice of entrusting some of his hoard of pillows to other dragons' care. Re'em came into possession of the most beautiful pillow in existence.

Re'em didn't offer it to anyone, but Oddjob took up plant-, pet- and house-sitting to collect references and approached Re'em anyway with a filled-out copy of the most extensive adoption application he could find.

Came with a cat friend. It has vestigial chicken wing extra limbs, so could be a skycat? Even though it was with him long before the centennial migration and looks (and acts) a lot like a hairless (and featherless?) domestic tabby.

Amateria would adore knitting it all kinds of tiny kitty sweaters but even she has to agree the one it already has on is unsurpassably perfect. And the kitty snuggles in it so perfectly clawlessly it's going to be a long, long time before that one wears out.

[x] is minorly obsessed with this cat because if it's actually a properly domesticated skycat, with generations of successively-tamed ancestors, then that means someone, somewhere, figured out how skycats reproduce. Odd would appreciate the manic-eyed lurker let Hobbes Friend be, please.
