Dragon Log

The latest young one to hatch from the Clan’s “Festival Egg” project, she showed a rare magic almost from her hatching from her Wind Egg, when she conjured a small cyclone only moments after opening her eyes. The Clan is a bit apprehensive over what this could mean about her future, but other than that she seems to be a very gentle being. She just happens to have an extremely strong link to her birth element…

3-29-21: After a great deal of discussion, it was decided to break the Clan’s usual rule, and send this little one to the Mistral Jamboree, with the very responsible Ruby to look after her. Perhaps there she can find a way to control her powerful talent. And in the meantime, she will have a chance to see the less…destructive…parts of being a Wind Mage, in a (hopefully) controlled environment… ( , )

6-20-21: The little one has been back from the Cloudsong Celebration for some time, now, constantly working with Ruby and other Wind dragons in the Clan to focus and direct her magical energy into something far less destructive than cyclones and hurricanes. One of her most pleasant "lessons" has involved playing for long stretches with "Pretty," the Bramblecrown Stoat. The young Guardian has been learning to conjure small gusts of wind to catch up leaves and hover them only a few inches from Pretty's nose...only to move them away swiftly before her familiar can swat them. It is a game that both dragon and stoat have enjoyed immensely, and it has only strengthened the bond between them. In fact, today Pretty Awakened! And promptly used her new energy to grab a leaf before the young Wind Mage could whisk it away. Hmm....It looks like it might be time to increase the intensity of the winds....
