Bio: While a twin at birth, Javiar wasn’t a special dragon. He didn’t consider himself special nor did his parents or siblings. He had a good life as a hatchling, yet he was tormented for how weak he was. Being a twin wasn’t necessarily a good thing for him, he was the weaker half. It was his sister who came out a strong hatchling. He barely survived in that egg with her, so when he came out the poor dragon could hardly stand. Of course, this only meant life would be harder for him, especially as a pearlcatcher hatchling. While he was perfect in all other ways, body shape and otherwise, he was still a weak hatchling. He couldn’t possibly represent what was meant to be a top-tier species this way. So, he was teased by his brothers and sisters for being weak. He couldn’t join in sibling roughhousing and if he did he was always beaten and made fun of. Even his twin sister Emlyn could have more fun with their siblings than he could. After all, she wasn’t the runt.

Because of this, Javiar found enjoyment in other things. He didn’t need his siblings to enjoy himself. Instead, he found himself gravitating towards books. Books didn’t take too much of his energy like roughhousing did, and they didn’t make fun of him for being a weak dragon. No, books were rather comforting to him. They contained boundless information of knowledge that no dragon could ever hope to know all of. They taught him, fed his mind, and fueled his imagination. Maybe he couldn’t have a strong body like his brothers and sisters had, but he could have a strong mind, nothing was stopping him from that.

Of course, his siblings were much more concerned with other things. They cared more for items that were common for dragons to enjoy--gems, jewels, and other things of similar quality and rarity. Even his twin sister didn’t care much for books, she was much more concerned with metal and how it could be used to make things.

While his nature clan was his home, and where he was born, he did not feel at home here. Though it should be said that even if he felt like his alien in his own home, his twin sister eased this pain. While she got along with their brothers and sisters much better than he ever did, she did not outright ignore him or tease him as their other siblings did. The two, being born from the same egg, had some strong bond. It wasn’t something Javiar could really put into words, but she did help home really feel like home. Really, she was the only one who could do that, despite their enormous differences. Sometimes, their interests even came together in their own unique way. In the time the two of them spent together, his stronger sister often asked him about what he had read. She had never found any interest in it, but it was something that kept the two of them close. On rare occasions, however, Javiar would bring up things that did interest her. Javiar read all types of books, this included books like recipe books or methodology books for metalwork. When he had consumed books like this, he could tell his sister about what he had read, and the two could have an engaging conversation. This made him so happy, he had found himself absorbing all the different types of metalwork books he could find.

Though, this bond and the experiences he had with his sister were not enough to keep him from leaving the nest. Javiar wanted to live in a home where he felt he fit, so, in time he found himself preparing to leave his birthplace. Of course, his sister did not like this. If the two of them were to separate, this would ultimately destroy their bond. In an attempt to preserve their closeness, she demanded to come with him, claiming to go off on his own as such a weak dragon was dangerous. In the end, a rather huffy Javiar agreed to let her come along for “protection”.

So the two set off on a journey to look for a new home, with no plan or no sense of direction. For the most part, the trip was an easy one, excluding all the flying they had to do. Having no real plan for where they were headed, the two of them found themselves seeing the sights of the world on their adventure. The first stop was in the Wild Sanctum, which was very close to their home in the Gladeveins. The two had stopped there to witness the magic that’s studied by scholars and magisters alike. Javiar, obviously, was the most interested in this, but Emlyn enjoyed herself anyway. Once they both were satisfied with what they had seen, they moved on to see other interesting sights. The most notable sight they had seen--and the last one they would see before their journey came to an end-- was the wonder of the world, the Pillar of the World. The two little dragons of course were amazed and somehow also intimidated by the structure. The twins knew they would never see anything else like it.

Shortly after this, the twin dragons came upon a jet black mirror with royal purple wings. The dragon had introduced himself as Ender, the leader of the Blue Tree clan. He was warm and welcoming towards them. So much so, Javiar felt whichever clan he came from would be a good one to join. Surely such a friendly leader could not come from a cruel and cold clan. And of course, Javiar was right. Ender had led them into the warm and welcoming embrace of the tree. Javiar couldn’t put his claw on why, but he felt at home here, and almost healthier in a strange way. He liked it here, and so did his sister, so the twins agreed to make this lair in, the Dusk Sanctum, their new home.

There was only one thing missing now. Javiar and his sister had the perfect home, but Javiar lacked purpose. With his snout securely stuck in books before, he had never really given his purpose much thought. However, being as happy as he was in the tree, he felt he needed to contribute in some way. Of course, this wasn’t an issue for his sister, as she had immediately befriended the miners of the tree and started to embrace her passion: metalwork. For Javiar however, finding a purpose within the tree wouldn’t be as easy of a task. With no ideas himself, he sought the help of the leader of the clan once again. The two dragons ended up having a lengthy conversation about it which ended in Ender suggesting Javiar embrace his passion for books. A librarian would be perfect for a book lover, so a librarian he became.

As he grew comfortable with his newfound purpose and the Blue Tree clan he found himself befriending other dragons. Specifically, he found himself bonding with Ovo, the blind pearlcatcher who lived within the tree as well. Her intelligent yet quirky mind fit perfectly with his knowledgeable and reserved mind. The two grew so close the whole clan saw them as two peas in a pod.

Today he resides within the tree tending to his massive library and enjoying the company of his newfound mate. And of course, like any good librarian, he adds to the knowledge the tree has and guides those who wish to empower their mind. Finally, Javiar was in a place where he felt safe and welcomed. Finally, he was in a clan where he could thrive. Nowadays, This weak-bodied yet strong-minded pearlcatcher couldn’t be happier.
