7kGm9xa.png Mafu first met Gordu when the previous matriarch brought the tribe to the ancient ancestral birthplace of Tundra-kind. After a wild and reckless night of youth together, the two were separate for a time. When they met again, neither one was the reckless youth they once were. Mafu had become the tribe matriarch since that time.
As tends to happen when a long time is spent without contact, the two became reacquainted, the memory of that first meeting having dimmed.

The pair have different approaches to teaching their young. Where Gordu encourages the simple approach of giving your best effort, Mafu will tell those in their adolescence that there comes a time where cutting your losses is more beneficial. Gordu emphasises that it's perfectly alright to have your own thoughts and feelings on something, while Mafu's approach is to caution her young not to expect everyone to agree with them.

Where Mafu coaches caution and nips any narcissistic tendencies in the bud, Gordu was raised in a tradition of granting weary travellers shelter from snowstorms. It was simply a good thing to do, and a most comforting world it would be were every clan to practice hospitality.
He is far more likely to give strangers the benefit of the doubt than his mate, believing that dragons are naturally decent sorts, such that those who appear not to be are relatively few gone astray.

Deciding how to balance freedom and responsibilities granted to adolescents is something the pair have learnt has a different solution for every fledgling.
