Biography
Magna'Mater
Lore
. |
"My friend, you once asked me what it was that I was searching for. And I told you that I did not know," said Magna'Mater as she stood atop a knoll overlooking the Crystalspine Reaches. "Indeed," murmured Tacet'Mare. He limped closer to Magna'Mater's right. "I seem to recall that you also asked me to look into your future, despite it being forbidden by the laws of my clan." Magna'Mater purred. Her tail slashed the grass in a swift swipe. "You looked into my future despite that and were subsequently banished from your home. Ah but you distract me from my point." Tacet'Mare turned his head to look at Magna'Mater's profile; he looked into her uncommon violet gaze. "What point would that be? And thank you for dredging up such bad memories for me." Magna'Mater inhaled, and her chest swelled. She exhaled with a deep and loving thrum in her throat. "I'm sorry my friend. Those memories can't be all bad for you. I'm in some of them after all! Haha, I'm getting distracted again. I found what I was searching for. Welcome to your new home, Tacet'Mare. Welcome home, everyone." The blood moon shone its eerie light upon the sharp points of the crystals that pierced the ocean's rippling surface. It was on that grassy knoll, in the light of the blood moon, that Sanguinem Luna was founded. All the dragons gathered behind Magna'Mater and her devoted mystic felt relief seep into their aching bodies. They were home. | . |
Additional Information
.... The Titan Age Titan of Anima(Soul), Earth, and Water - The First Matriarch |
. . . . |
The Titan Age Magna'Mater is a Titan that came to Sornieth after traveling for a very long time in the depths of space. She and her mate Magna'Patrem needed a place to rest after their travels and found that they liked Sornieth and the creatures that the resident Gods created. That being said, Magna'Mater and Magna'Patrem did not want to step on any paws and they respect the Gods such as the Arcanist as the reigning deities of Sornieth. It meant that they did not have to worry about the safety or balance of the planet and thus, they could find the rest they wanted. Or so they thought. They did not anticipate the constant presence of the Shade. They arrived on Sornieth in what modern breeds call the time of the Ancients. To blend in and join in the efforts to repel the Shade, Magna'Mater and Magna'Patrem took on the form of the Ancient Breeds. As time went on however the breeds started to evolve. To keep their Titan origins a secret, Magna'Mater and Magna'Patrem evolved with Dragonkind. Magna'Mater took the form of a Guardian, as she felt that was the newest species that represented her domain with its notable traits. That was when she was hit by the Search. She felt that insatiable desire to find her charge. It led her and Magna'Patrem all across Sornieth and in time dragons of all regions and species joined her in her pilgrimage. These select few received Magna'Mater and Magna'Patrem's blessings in that they became more than mere mortals and ascended to become Titans themselves through Magna'Mater and Magna'Patrem's combined efforts. It was then on that fateful blood moon night, where all of her followers were with her, that she found her charge in the great crystal spire within the Crystalspine Reaches. The real work began for Magna'Mater. She was a humble and determined Matriarch, loving and caring as she helped her clan build a home out of the land she chose. She did not like exceptionally flashy gold or jewels and instead found a love for soft fabrics and made her signature starlight cloak. It became her crown, the symbol of her authority, and all of the clan felt safe when they spied her cloak fluttering in a crystal hall. Her stern mien did not translate to complacency or softness, no, underneath belies the true and fierce Titan. When she became angry, it was as if the very Crystal Spire itself responded with her fury. When she took to the battlefield, whether it was to fight Beastclan or aspects of the Shade, nothing could stand in her way. When the Matriarch of Sanguinem Luna took to the field, the enemy's defeat was assured. The Pantheon Age Magna'Mater and Magna'Patrem's ability to change shape was passed down to their children, which is why the Pantheon displays such a variety of dragon species. Magna'Mater marked the beginning of this age when she stepped down to let her son Arcyng Leo'Animus take over the rule of the clan. She went to her chamber at the pinnacle of the Crystal Spire and entered a deep hibernation within the crystal. Soon to follow were the original Titans, her friends that endured so much with her. That grand chamber became known as Titan's Rest, a holy and sacred place where the young of the Clan could dream in peace and receive guidance from their forebears. Or if they so wished, they could seek the council of Magna'Mater's closest protector and friend, Tacet'Mare; the great Mystic of Sanguinem Luna. He remains to the present day, guarding his sleeping comrades and beloved Matriarch. The New Age Magna'Mater sleeps on throughout the modern years with no sign of waking. Even with the fierce contest for control between her sons Noctis'Timore and Arcyng Leo'Animus, and the inevitable betrayal of Tenebris'Cor, Magna'Mater does not stir within her crystal. It is noted however that the Crystal Spire is darker and gloomier, as if it is reflecting the disappointment felt by the slumbering Titan. It pains her to see her clan, her family, so torn. There are times in her dreams, that she wonders if there was anything she could've done to stop Noctis'Timore. Her heart will say no. Her blind love for them all has in the end made them all stronger because of the trials that they have been made to endure. If there is one thing that she is proud of, it is the resilience of her clan. In her mind, they are all Titans with fierce and brave hearts, even those that have made their homes elsewhere. Charge: Long ago, in the bygone days when Sanguinem Luna was nothing more than a troupe of displaced dragons, the Matriarch first tread upon the crystalline cliffs and irradiated grasses of the Arcanist's domain. It was there that she found a home for her wayward family. It was there that her search for a charge was finally over. Should any brazen soul be fool enough to hurt(accident or otherwise) the land or the dragons that reside where Magna'Mater claims guardianship...well...just ask Purpura'Squama about what happens. Familiar The Storm Seeker that often rides upon Magna'Mater's back is her faithful companion from the beginning. She met the little bird in her travels when he flew up to her to invite her into the headwinds of a hurricane. They have been inseparable since then and Magna'Mater believes it is because her little bird sees her and the clan as his new flock. A notion that she is more than happy to encourage. When his mistress finally enters her deep sleep, he can be found perched above her crystal to watch over her and watch everything that transpires in the Crystal Spire. Celestial Mother
This is your clan.
This is your family,
Grown strong in the searching
This is your Home -
Built out of crystal
You shaped yourself
With your own two hands
After wander, after struggle
This is a place to rest
Your bones
In the beginning
There were young gods
Building a world in their image
In the beginning there was you
A visitor, content for once
To let others run things
Who says gods can't take vacations?
You learned to like
Well worn fabric,
Soft purples -
A mantle you wear well
There were long days, good days
Though war came and went
And the shade threatened always
The clan grew strong under you
And all other helping hands
Every god knows that things must end
Everyone must rest
So you returned to crystal
Disaster came at last
Dark times, full of struggle
A family at war with themselves
A house divided falls
But this clan is strong
You made sure of that
A mother loves all
Her children
No matter what,
No matter how
A mother loves her children
Even those that go astray
Get twisted like brambles
Grown dark in caves
A mother loves her children
Blades must be tempered and tested
Again and again
In fires strong
This is your family, your home
They will face this
Trial by fire
And come out stronger
You will be there to lend an ear,
Silent watcher -
Celestial mother
You know your people well

Which should translate to:
Tell, great poet, of the starry-winged daughter
Of the bloodstained moon, who first wandered savage lands.
From her are sprung immortal gods and lofty kings
And that crystal-carved city, which stands shining
In the middle of Earth and Sky (wonderful to tell!)

Titan Caelestis of the Titan's Wake Lineage
Matriarch
This dragon is Magna'Mater herself! She, alongside her husband Magna'Patrem, founded the dynasty of Titans that makes up the backbone of the Titan's Wake Lineage. Famed for her mysticism and devotion to those that follow her, Magna'Mater wants to see her descendants blossom into the incredible dragons she knew they were destined to be. And if they help make Sornieth a better place? All the better! She is a full-blood Celestial Titan and is capable of changing her shape (any attempts with a scroll will not render her infertile). As a founder of the entire family tree, it is not uncommon to hear of whispers that she speaks to and guides her descendants.
