Lore

. Conjectus'Terra, a large green and grey Guardian, produced a low rumbling call that echoed in the Sky Forge area. "Maestus."

Maestus'Ferrarius, perched on his tail with his right foot firmly grasping clamps that held a red hot bar of iron and a hammer clutched in his left, turned his head to look toward his brother. "Ah, there you are Conjectus. I was wondering where you got to. I'll have to run this piece through the forge again but I should have that new brazier complete for you by the end of the day."

Conjectus'Terra shook his massive head. "That can wait. I need to speak to you..."

Maestus'Ferrarius produced a sharp snort. "Well that tone is new. Fine, what is it that you wish to speak of?"

Maestus'Ferrarius dumped the hot metal bar inside a barrel of oil that hissed upon contact. Shaking out his wings, Maestus'Ferrarius knew that his glamor was working thanks to the tiny motes of pink magic that floated around him. He was a Banescale masquerading as a Wildclaw with useless forearms. It was a trick that he learned from his mentor. He liked the idea, hiding away his true identity and powers until needed.

He stepped up to Conjectus'Terra and looked up at his giant brother. Maestus'Ferrarius rumbled, "So? What plagues your mind?"

Conjectus'Terra possessed a dour expression as he shifted on his paws. "I've heard that you've been crafting battle claws, more than the typical requests from the Day's Watch and Night's Watch. Is that true?"

Maestus'Ferrarius burst into barking laughter. He flapped his wings a few beats before settling. In his mind, he was silently cursing his overconfidence. He would need to be more cautious in the future. The clan could not know what Noctis'Timore was planning. Oh the coming fight was going to be grand. He could feel the thrill of battle boiling in his veins.

Tossing his head with a heavy snort, Maestus'Ferrarius looked at his brother straight in the eyes. He flicked his snout, a challenging display that was disguised by merriment. "And who told you this? Aetherius'Lyra? Conjectus, where did your brain go? What did he say? You know what a terrible gossip our Plant Singer brother is! That glutton for drama is probably trying to stir up something to inspire his next ballad!"

Conjectus'Terra produced a heavy sigh. His eyes closed and his body visibly relaxed. "Yes, yes... I know... but..."

Maestus'Ferrarius perched on his tail to reach a wing up to Conjectus'Terra and playfully smack him upside the head. "Listen, I'm glad that you came to speak to me. I can set the tale straight. I have been working on more battle claws, however they are simply for storage. I wanted to make a little bit of a stockpile, that way I can focus my attention on more important projects like the new braziers and chandeliers."

Conjectus'Terra's eyes widened. "Oh," he barked, "You were just getting ahead of the demand! I am sorry Maestus! Please forgive my suspicious mind."

Maestus'Ferrarius felt immense relief inside. Thank the Great Mother that his brother bought that. He gave Conjectus'Terra another playful pat. "Be at ease, I took no offense. Now come! Let's get back to work! You have that large order of fire runes to make for the chefs!"

The Pantheon Age

God of Metal Craft - Foredragon
. . . . frarcane_left_sword_by_littlefiredragon-dbjxyoi.png frarcane_right_sword_by_littlefiredragon-dbjxyp0.png

The Titan Age
Maestus'Ferrarius, like many of his siblings, was able to decide his form before he hatched. He hatched as a Banescale, much to the surprise of Magna'Mater and Magna'Patrem. The young hatchling displayed phenomenal affinity for metal craft and being a blacksmith. So when he was old enough, he became the apprentice of Mortuus'Oculus. He learned everything from Mortuus'Oculus, even learning how to create the glamor disguise to protect himself from Gaolers. However, there was a darkness that seeped within Maestus'Ferrarius. A darkness that immediately drew him to the company of his older brother, Noctis'Timore. The pair arranged multiple deals, where Maestus'Ferrarius would create useful objects for Noctis'Timore. None of them seemed outwardly harmful, mostly light fixtures for mage lights to be bound to; however Maestus'Ferrarius knew that the rest of the clan watched him closely.

The Pantheon Age
Maestus'Ferrarius found Noctis'Timore's fixation on defeating Arcyng rather amusing. He didn't have anything against his younger brother personally however he did look forward to seeing how the conflicts would escalate. Maestus'Ferrarius loved that the conflict granted him access to more interesting projects than making hoes for the Plant Singers. He performed his duties well, producing useful tools and the like for the clan during the majority of this age. He would frequently coordinate projects with his brother Conjectus'Terra as the Spellsmith often needed objects to bind runestones to. Maestus'Ferrarius would occasionally venture out to gather new materials but most of the time he would place in orders with the Hunters. He would occasionally share gossip he learned with Noctis'Timore, being an informant for the Cult of Rebirth but also continued to supply his older brother with any metal craft that he may need. The increase in orders, particularly new sets of battle claws, told Maestus'Ferrarius that something grand was going to occur. He wasn't going to miss it so when the Angel's Coup D'etat began, Maestus'Ferrarius was in the fray as a combatant. He fought for the Angels of Rebirth, finally unleashing the power of his true Banescale form.

The New Age
While he did not expect Tenebris'Cor to emerge as the victor, Maestus'Ferrarius did not have any quarrel with his nephew. However the fighting was incredibly draining on him. He needed to rest. So he relinquished his title as Foredragon to one of his apprentices. He did not enter crystal stasis and was content to simply work at a more relaxed pace without the added duties of being Foredragon. He was delighted when his mentor woke from crystal stasis. Nowadays Maestus'Ferrarius spends a lot of his time talking with Mortuus'Oculus, crafting up goods for the clan, or gathering materials to feed into his cauldron.

Ravenous Cauldron
Familiar
Maestus'Ferrarius possesses a ghastly familiar, a Ravenous Cauldron. As sinister as its master, this enchanted cauldron will follow all who enter the forge area with hungry eyes. This creepy companion serves a useful purpose for Maestus'Ferrarius as a crucible. Any raw materials that Maestus'Ferrarius needs for his projects will be smelted by the Ravenous Cauldron. Maestus'Ferrarius will caution visitors about their proximity to his familiar, as he will claim that he is not responsible for any negligence nor any accidents associated with that negligence. Many speculate that Maestus'Ferrarius uses his cauldron to assist the Cult of Rebirth with more unsavory projects on the side. Which is why the majority of the clan keeps their distance from both blacksmith and cauldron.
