Lots of new faces, strange wares she didn't come across within her own clan, friendly lighting with safe places to land above the crowds. She could easily spend the rest of the Carnivale exploring the stalls and tents once she had dealt with the armband. Assuming she survived this adventure. Pierce’s Pieces. It sounded intriguing, and it was only with reluctance that she told the owner she wasn't actually there to buy anything. “I’ll come back when I can. If I can. I’d gladly stay and chat with you then.” She gave her coat a shake as she was attaching Carrock’s package for carrying, making it rattle with the reassuring jingle of coins within. At least Carrock didn't require some throttling to give her the information– it would have been quite the low point of her day, which was saying something. Calling her an errand dragon was probably meant as an insult, but Sprocket didn't take any offense. It wasn't so far off from what she actually did. But anything good today was not meant to last. They'd barely made it to the market to look for Enzul’s blue lantern when another desperate chase began, and this one was entirely Cotriona’s fault. If she was going to steal from merchants and then wear their gear, she ought to have had the skill to do so without being seen first. The fae gasped when a body hit her and sent her crashing into a wall. She was lucky she didn't stun easily, or she might not have recovered in time to dodge the dragon’s claws. By then she had charged some breath and sent out a shock of electricity as she gave her assailant a good thwap with her tail. The other dragon recoiled, and he rolled out of her sight with a flash of metal. Cogger had caught up with them, and was presently ravaging her assailant’s face as his legs fought to find a grip. Sprocket watched as the creeper steadied himself, then sent out a much stronger surge than she had managed, effectively paralyzing the dragon beneath him. The dragon collapsed, and her creeper pattered groggily back onto flat ground, his lights dimmed. Low power. Sprocket snagged a power coil from the bottom of her coat and clicked out the signal for battery. The plates in the creeper’s abdomen shifted to raise out his current coil, and she quickly switched them out. It was only then that she glanced at Cotriona’s side of the fighting, and it wasn’t going well. The pearlcatcher had the full attention of two more dragons. If she wanted to Sprocket would have plenty of time to aim some bolts at their other attackers. Honestly, she didn't want to. It wasn't in her nature to fight; it was destructive, and she was far more comfortable diverting her energies to creating and fixing. And as recent action had showed, Cogger was much more capable in a fight than herself. But.. She was of the Grotto. No dragon was to be left behind, no life put beneath the value of your own. Sprocket couldn’t call herself one of them and then ignore this dragon that had got her this far.

Hopefully the obstacle would give the officer enough pause for her to work out a plan B- she wasn't going to be foolish enough to think that she'd lost him, when he had been so dead set on hunting her down before. Besides, she now suspected that it had been a foolish idea to leave the tavern in the market in the first place. At least there, she might have found someone who was willing to help, or at least been able to meet up with Andraste. Now she was utterly on her own, in an unfamiliar part of the city, and all she could do was hope for a potential escape route and to find someone that might be able to give her some semblance of help. Whatever magic had branded her with this tattoo was only bound to get worse before it got better, in any case, and she hardly wanted to find out what kind of nasty effects it would have upon her should she wait too long to find help. A split in the path up ahead was enough to make the Skydancer stop in her path, eyes darting as she tried to discern what could possibly be the best escape route. The route with the lever looked promising- even more so if the device happened to power the gate, which would put yet another obstacle in Taliesin's path and slow him down even more- but Eglantine wasn't sure that she wanted to blindly trust that the lever would actually do what she needed it to do, especially considering that it was quite obvious no other dragon had been down here in quite some time in order to keep things properly maintained. The other path was more open, more exposed, but the light she saw glimmering at the end of it hinted at some form of path to the outside, and if it lead back into the market there was a very good chance that she'd be able to lose the officer in the crowds. Deciding not to take her chances with the potential death trap that the other path could have been, Eglantine decided to flee up the open path, hoping above all else that the officer might cease his chase after a long enough period so that she might be able to catch her breath.

Rusty Golem

Emera huffed as she neared the restaurant; really, she was feeling more like a errand-hatchling than a Dragon in need of answers. Beside her, Hyperion trotted along, the box securely on his back as they made their way back to the restaurant. Brushing aside a part of the kelpie wig she still wore from her eyes, she headed straight for the Fae in the corner, seeing Cotriona there as well.

Carrock took the box - without so much as a thank you, but honestly she wasn't expecting one at this point - and roughly explained to find a blue lantern to find Enzul's home. After Cotriona exchanged words with him - seeing as they appeared to be at least an acquaintance, but Emera felt it was more than that - she led the way outside, finally being able to find the seemingly elusive Enzul and get to the bottom of this mess.

But of course, life was never that simple.

When Cotriona and Emera broke into a run, after being called out by one of the shopkeepers the Pearlcatcher stole from and subsequently having their pursuers find them amidst the crowd, Emera felt her it was just her luck when they flew right into a brick alleyway.

And suddenly Emera once again found herself way out of her league; she was a scientist, not a warrior! It was only thanks to Hyperion that her own attacker was knocked back. She saw the opening; she could easily escape! But when she saw Cotriona cornered, she knew that leaving wasn't an option; not without Cotriona at her side.

With all the strength and courage she could muster as a Guardian, Emera turned, ready to help Cotriona fight off the attackers. She could do this! Right?

Or perhaps one of the mages has a book restoration spell of some kind... These thoughts keep her mind busy as Fuse prowls through the junk heaps, looking for the requested device. She still wants to find those two bossy dragons she ran into earlier, but she just won't mention this book to them. She still doesn't know if they're friend or foe, and she doesn't want to lose this surprise advantage. Finaly, she finds the object she's after, damaged and sparking. "Ahh, there we are." She scoops the piece up carefully, tucking it into her bag (after carefully ensuring the book is buried at the bottom, unlikely to be accidentally revealed). "Now, to find that gorram Skydancer." ----- Ooh, it seems that things are about to get interesting on Fuse's chosen path. Is this game only running through Saturday? I feel like the story is only just getting going for me! (Though I see some people have already had an altercation with the skull-faced Mirror!)

Thornspell, and her familiar Hedwig
Charoite Burrower

Thornspell was estatic.

There was only one thing in the world that she loved more than ancient, dusty books.

That thing was magical, ancient, dusty books.

Oh. And Hedwig. Yeah, she loved her familiar too.

She wanted to study it right then and there, but they were on a time limit. So she carefully wrapped it up in one of the scarves she bought in the bazaar— this was worth it, even if she really did like the scarf. She resolved to inspect it as soon as she got a free moment.

Free moment:
A time when not being chased by super-evil looking dragons.

Anyway, she’d found a super shiny looking machine with lots of buttons and of course she wanted to figure it out herself! Who didn’t want to press big red buttons? Thornspell started tinkering with the machine.

Behind her, Hedwig facepalmed. (Facewinged?)

Day 5:

(I'm so sorry for being late... i have to post these during work break ;_; I'll try to be earlier next time.)

Although cautious, the Imperial moved forward, and with each step she became more certain, until she was right in front of the object.

Tickclickclickclick~

Little clicking noises broke the low humming rhythm of the strange machine before Sy, and she tilted her head as she bent forward to try to get a better look at it's mechanics.

'What an odd device...'.

It was the one Andraste said to look for.

Seeing a strange set of lights on the device, Sy reached towards them, thinking... ' As a scholar myself, surely it couldn't hurt to try and figure out how the machine w--'.

Suddenly the device set off a few stray sparks... and Symphony stood up straight and took a few paces backwards hastily. She decided it would be better to take the device to Andy.

'As someone who specialised in this sort of machinery, she would know what to do with it'.
