Lol this is why it kidda sucks that I have a job. Ya'll did some great brainstorming and I actually had a plot/theme idea of my own that could solve the partner and animal choices in one. Sooo here is my stick, and then I'll vote on the previous stuffs below it.


So I thought it could be fun to do one of those like "Riff raff turned hero" stories.
Here is the basic back story I was able to come up with:

Four nations under a high king do well for centuries, through the generations until we get to the current one, where in a grad betrayal the "Guardian King"((High king)) is killed/murdered/dies dropping everything into a royal war. Ya'know who's heir gets to be the next high king if the Guardian king didn't have an heir kinda thing. And have some unnamed power house take over XD.

Anyway, so through the falling out of the nations, poverty ensues,frights break out against once peaceful nations and rebellions form outside the cities. This is were we come in, as part of a "neutral" rebellion made up of run-aways/guards/general people from each fallen kingdom. Kinda like a mini "united nations" XD.

I think our guys should be scouts in the beginning, a team of like "elite trackers" used to scope out back allies and what not. So we'd have two humans/humaniods, each partnered with an animal partner. One creature being a runner/swimmer and the other being a flyer.

Okay, so I think it would be fun if the once scouts become the heros of the story, kinda like an underdog story.
