Var grinned at the Spiral and slowed in his flight, his fluffy fur puffing up around him, making him appear almost twice the size and, if not for the silly grin on his face, very menacing.

"Fluff make Var big! When Var scared, Var go more fluff and Var not so scared. Not much is biggerer than fluffy poof Var!"

Var sped up again to streamline his fur and started to laugh as, for the first time, he felt free. He was going to find a new home! Somewhere where they weren't mean. Somewhere near Mr Midnight and GooeyGirl and his friends.

Midnight laughed at Var's antics (and laughed even harder when Scratch got a mouthful of fur), "Very fortunate then that Var dragon now big poof. But Var dragon look scary when poof: no eet Midnight, yees?" He knew Var wouldnt hurt him (after all he hadnt treated Var like the other coin toss recipients) but teased the dragon anyway. Var was at least twice the size of Bruiser when he puffed up!
Bruiser would be so proud his kid grew so big. XD

Var giggled at Midnight. Silly noodley Midnight! And then he grinned.


"Mr Midnight go down easy...start from tail and just..." Var made slurping noises and clapped his hands at the image of eating the big noodley dragon. He looked down and saw something shining below them. He quickly dived down and grabbed the sparkly things for Midnight.

"Here Mr Midnight...some shiny for you! As thank you for help Var find new home..." He held out his hands for Midnight to take the items.

"Oh ho dragon friend, this trick, yees: Var dragon going to gobble Midnight up as soon as he be grabbing shiny item~~" the spiral joked as he held out his claw to see what had caught his friend's eye, "Var dragon will being having midnight snack of Midnight!" That one made him snicker. Oh how witty he could be. XD

Var tipped the sparklies into Midnight's claw and then, because he thought it would be funny, licked his face like he had seen GooeyGirl do. Mr Midnight tasted strange.

"Just checking. Var not going to eat Mr Midnight. Mr Midnight not taste like flowers and Var only eat flowers." Var grinned and laughed as he flew past Midnight then hovered, waiting for him to catch up.

Midnight made a note to rub dead fish on himself more often.
Good for keeping the scales shining AND apparently good for not getting eaten by Var.
What an odd dragon. Maybe he hung out with Goo to much. XD
Midnight looked at the shining rocks; wait..some if these were diamonds! Did Var understand the value of these? Now the dragon was torn: keep his mouth shut or possibly steal from his friend. He had spent his entire life hoarding gold and diamonds, making a career out of cheating dragons out of their hard earned treasure. But that lifestyle didnt make friends.
And he had one now.
Ohhhhh......what to do?
Midnights little legs fidgeted in the air as he wrestled with his decision before he finally flew a bit faster to catch up.
"Er.....friend Var dragon....some deese quite valuable..." he said quietly and a bit...embarrassed... as he pointed to the glitteeing diamonds.

Var looked at the sparklies that he had given to Midnight. The blue one was his favourite because it was the same colour as Midnight himself. He smiled at Midnight. The sparklies Midnight liked most, were most valuable, were the clear ones.

"Var not need them. Var want friend Midnight to have them all. Friend Midnight need more pretty things. Midnight all blue. Var lots of pretty colours. Now Midnight can have pretty colours like Var." He grinned at Midnight happily. He was lucky his friend thought about him. Midnight was a good friend.

Midnight stared at Var, blushing slightly. He had never been given treasure before. He had taken and schemed and swiped but never given anything of value.
The cobalt dragon carefully placed the rocks into a special satchel and followed his friend, pointing at a large shining pool on the ground, "look Var dragon! Is beeg water! Water is veery fresh. Much good to be drinking. We stop? Small break?"

Var grinned and nodded. A drink would be good.

"Is cold water? We drink cold water. And is plants too? Var hungy…" Var's stomach growled slightly and he looked sheepish. He started the descent slowly to the side of the water, looping around lazily as Midnight followed him down.
