The group shuffles into the cavern, guided along by the expedition crew as they begin their adventure into the tunnels. Whether nervous, bored, or excited, all the dragons assembled head into the dimly lit caves, ready to explore.
Druid
Well,
almost everyone. Druid freezes right at the entrance of the cave, suddenly feeling dizzy as the dragons surrounding him crowd him on all sides, pressing against him and shuffling past his now-frozen form.
Feeling his heart rate accelerate, and his breathing quicken, Druid stands firmly as the other dragons shuffle past him. Some look over their shoulder at him with a questioning glance. He couldn’t care less though; with claustrophobia setting in, he can’t bare to take another step inside, and quickly leaves the cavern entrance behind.
He doesn’t look back as Lylas yells “NO REFUNDS!” as Druid flees the area. He’ll find his allergy medication somewhere else, he thinks.
As the rest of the dragons walk down the caverns, some make small talk and friendly conversation. Others keep to themselves, wary of the path ahead. After a few minutes of walking, the path splits into three. The dragons head off in different directions, the group finally thinning out enough for everyone to breathe.
Taiga, Florasighth, Hawthorn, Maolin, Heemi, Raijin, Tiamat
The first group takes the center path, Raijin quickly bolting ahead of the rest in order to claim the cave’s riches and treasures first. Maolin, picking up on their excitement but not their greed, trots at an even pace behind them, their enthusiasm proving infectious. Tiamat is right on her heels, her sense of competitiveness starting to kick in as Raijin takes off on a running start.
Florasighth and Hawthorn follow behind at a slower pace, not rushing to continue down the cavern. Heemi keeps their distance behind the others, content for now to stalk the back of the pack, keeping their eyes sharp on the path ahead, looking for any chance to get an advantage over the rest of the group.
Lertes, Polgara, Sunrise, Myrdin, Sapphire, Krill
Krill wastes no time using his bulk as a ridgeback dragon to shove the competition out of his way, several contestants complaining as he throws them against the wall in his eagerness to take off down the left tunnel. The sooner he can be done with this, the sooner he can smash Lionheart’s smug face into the ground. Sunrise rubs his shoulder where it slammed into the wall from the force of the shove, giving Polgara a polite smile and nod when she asks if he’s ok out of reflex.
Sapphire huffs at the unnecessary aggression from Krill, taking off after him after getting shoved to the side himself. After a pause, Lertes, Polgara, Sunrise, and Myrdin follow the eager two. Sunrise strikes up friendly conversation with Polgara. Lertes lags just behind the two, listening politely but making no move to join the conversation. Myrdin takes the back, keeping a silent watch over the backs of the other dragons as they head deeper into the caverns.
Chiastolite, Serenity, Petra, Saramune, Gild, BeautifulPoison
After Saramune’s and Gild’s banter, they give each other a certain
look before simultaneously darting down the right-most tunnel at the split. Wildclaws are known for their speed on land, so it surprises Gild when Saramune seems to keep up with him quite easily.
“You weren’t kidding about taking this seriously,” Gild smiles. Saramune smiles back, easily keeping pace with her. “Good,” she smirks, increasing his speed and taking a left around the next bend. Saramune follows just behind, nails scraping against the muddy ground as he drifts around the corner. His lantern highlights a narrow passage that Gild missed in her hurry down the cave. Hoping this is a shortcut, Saramune wastes no time hopping into the narrow cavern.
Most of the skydancers end up taking the right cavern as well. Chiastolite, Serenity, and Petra quickly strike up friendly conversation as they move deeper down the tunnels, engaging in small talk for the time being, and asking why each decided to go on this adventure; it turns out the three have a lot in common. BeautifulPoison follows a few feet behind the three, nodding and humming non-committal answers whenever one of the girls turns to ask her something. She’s more interested in examining the lichen growing on the walls they pass. It’s all common stuff, though, so she pays it little mind as they head deeper in. They follow down the path Gild took, the tunnel Saramune followed nowhere to be seen.
Saramune runs down the tunnel, slowing down as the walls get narrower around him. He considers turning back. Had he hit a dead end? No, there’s something ahead he can see—it’s different from the smooth stone walls brushing against his shoulders. It’s.. a door? How odd, to find a metal door in a place like this.
He opens the door and steps inside, and in the room beyond, he sees a little golden hainu, standing at a control panel, pushing buttons and pulling levers as she watches the contestants on monitors above her station.
“You… So it was all your work!” Saramune exclaims, falling to his knees as the hainu turns to look at him. The hainu hops off the chair it was precariously balanced on, licking Saramune’s face as his fist pounds the floor beneath him.
Ok, ok, I’m sorry for the joke ending for Saramune, but I just couldn’t help myself
I was pretty disappointed to pull him for round 1 considering the cute RP above, but alas, I feel as if every time I get excited for a dragons development, they get pulled for elimination. I should learn to manage my expectations better

Druid was also exceptionally unlucky to get pulled, as he only had a 1/79 chance of losing the round. ‘Tis the curse of RNG, though!
