Pagan hums as he ponders your question. "Well, I suppose 'interesting' is one way to put it. I think the term 'dangerous' better describes them, though."

Pagan lights incense at the shrine to the Lightweaver, using his hands to fan the smoke towards himself, enjoying the scent of it. "It's like..." He ponders, for a moment. "Have you ever had a strange dream? Of course you have, that's a silly question." He ponders a few seconds more. "How would you feel if someone could enter your dream, your subconscious, on a whim?

"How would you feel if someone were to play the judge, to watch your most darkest dreams play out? To sit there and laugh as your subconscious drowned you at the hands of your mother? To observe as the walls of your failures closed in around you, the hands of all you hurt and betrayed reached out and grabbed at your limbs, your neck, seeking retribution? Would you truly, completely stay loyal to your god if its emissary came and burned your eyes out?" Pagan gets closer to you now. Between his unsettling tone and the uncomfortable subjects, you try to lean back, but he only follows you as you retreat. "What if you dreamt that you hurt someone you loved? Or that someone you loved hurt you? And in the corner, the whole time, that figure stood there and told you how it was your fault either way?." His face inches closer still, his breath hot on your face. "What if said person offered their hand to help, and as you grasped it, they twisted into the thing you hate the most, sneering and laughing at you as they hold you over the ledge, helpless to fight them?"

He looks you up and down, seeming to only now understand how sour he's made the mood. He gives you a light poke on the nose and withdraws. It doesn't do much to help your mood. "Well, anyways, the point is that the dreamwalkers feed on those negative emotions. Some will invoke your personal demons to feed off, some will craft a nightmare of their own to torture you with. The bubble is just simply where they all 'live.'"

He places some dry herbs on the altar, clearly preparing for some ritual. "But that's why I'm here. To help protect your clan and prevent them from hurting anyone else here." He points to the candle he handed you just moments before, its wicks unusually colored and twisted in spirals. "Remember to burn that tonight. I'll handle the rest."
