She was born on a moonless night.
The first thing she remembered was opening her eyes in an unfamiliar place, warm but distant, her supposed guardians nowhere to be seen. She saw many different faces, each belonging to a dragon completely different from her. Even then, she instinctively knew they were not from the same clutch, but that didn't stop her from considering them her siblings. From the moment she emerged from the egg, she knew deep down she would be a little different from everyone else.
She was given her name - Nymeria, by the various orphanage caretakers. She grew up fast - some may even say too fast, considering she barely remembered details about her childhood, but the end result was a caring, soft-hearted giant who wouldn't hurt a fly if she could. Naturally being one of the older ones there, she quickly took on a gentle, mature and level-headed big sister role to almost everyone else. However, she truly really only connected with one of the other orphans - a Nocturne named Morrise, who hatched on the same dark night as she did, was the only one she believed with all her heart and soul to be a true sibling, blood-related or not.
The pair bonded over many things growing up, with their mutual love of art being the most prominent, even as the rest of the world seemed to alienate them at times. Morrise was often cast weird glances, having a rather... eccentric outlook, to say the least, and Nymeria often felt that it was hard to connect with other hatchlings, especially when they were much younger than she was. Most importantly, despite their various differences in both appearance and general temperament, both of them seemed to share the curse (or maybe it was a blessing?) of never being adopted, even as most of their other fellow orphans have been chosen.
The unlikely duo of siblings never stopped encouraging each other regarding their personal dreams - Nymeria wanted nothing more than to have a magical, dreamy aquarium of her own, and Morrise dreamed of the day he could have an entire gallery full of artwork with his signature on them. They only parted when both of them were full-fledged adults, ready to face the world and make their dreams a reality, with the promise to reunite in the near future.
Of course, the road to chasing a lifelong dream was not an easy one. Nymeria did not get anywhere close to her vision of working in an aquatic fantasyland at first - in fact, her elegant looks and natural grace caught the attention of several filmmakers who saw her value as a potential performer. She was quickly invited to participate in a test shoot, one that she passed with flying colors. In just a few more months, Nymeria found herself being casted in several movies, even receiving invites to be the main character in a few.
Truth is, the Obelisk was never a fan of being under the spotlight, even less so being the star of the show. However, she really couldn't complain - it made her a generous income, and her slowly but surely building fame only unlocked more connections for her, allowing her to move ever closer to realizing her goal of building her own aquarium soon. Her beauty and talent were important, but her general pleasant personality and kindness earned her the favor of many friends and employers alike.
For a few years, Nymeria felt content. It was far from the dream life she had envisioned herself in, but what she had wasn't bad at all. She had a few notable roles in films by now, and much to her delight, she was able to meet up with her adoptive brother sometimes, through various art displays that happened to share a location with where her crew was setting up. Even if a lot had changed, their bond remained the same, and she knew Morrise was still the same dragon she knew as a hatchling. Her brother was now a full-fledged artist, something Nymeria was very proud of him for. In return, Morrise remained the one dragon who remained fully supportive of her ultimate pursuit of having her own aquatic wonderland.
Life was great, until the news of another Obelisk star coming to town reached her ears. An Obelisk that had shockingly similar physical features to Nymeria herself. Up until this point, she had never considered finding her lost family, always assuming that they were no longer around, but seeing the other dragon adorned in glimmering silks under the flashing lights, she felt a twinge of hope.
Sadly, fate had other plans for her. It took a while, but she eventually got in touch with the famous actress in question - Drizzle. Where Nymeria expected to find a heartwarming reunion with her potential long lost sister, she found only sharp words and cold rejection. For reasons she could not fathom at the time, Drizzle seemed insistent on avoiding her, treating her harshly whenever they found themselves in the same room. It hurt her more than she could explain - why was someone from her family trying to avoid her? Had she done something wrong?
Things only got worse once both sides figured out that they were indeed each other's long lost sister. Drizzle's demeanor went from cold to straight up mean, often whispering nasty rumors about her even when apart. Nymeria was determined to get to the bottom of things, and she thought she had seized her chance when both her and Drizzle were chosen as potential actresses for the same film. All she wanted was a heart-to-heart with the only living member of her blood family she just now knew existed - surely it wasn't too much to ask for?
For her sister, it apparently was. In their final meeting, Drizzle not only directly rejected any attempt to reconnect with Nymeria, but publicly berated her for coming into her life and trying to upstage her. What scarred her most, however, was when she finally gave up, turning to leave in defeat, Drizzle had spat and called her a disgrace to their bloodline, a disappointment to their family, and how she was utterly ashamed to have her as a sister at all, cursing the fact that she had to meet her.
The pain Nymeria felt at those words could not be described. For a long while, she spent nights crying alone, the sting of Drizzle's seething remarks never truly fading. Her friends in the acting circle managed to console her to the best of their ability, and she was able to put on her usual smile during work just for them. But the sadness clouded her mind like dense fog, weighing her down and obscuring her own vision that was once so set on a bright future she worked so hard for.
It was ultimately a meeting with Morrise that managed to snap her back to reality. While furious, the Nocturne had reassured her once more, in his own unique way, that she had a real sibling in him. It dawned on her then - he was right. Drizzle may be related to her by blood, but she was never in Nymeria's life the way her brother had been, and there was no need to heed her words anymore.
With renewed vigor, the Obelisk set her sights on her goal once again. She made her decision to step down as an actress, spending her last few days thanking everyone who had helped get her there to begin with. She moved to the Starfall Isles, where she had a run-in with a Fae named Linus. The energetic and excitable dragon had introduced herself as a novice filmmaker with a dream to make it big, and seeing the same spark Nymeria herself had in her eyes, she quickly agreed to help.
Together, the pair became the local dynamic duo in the film industry, Nymeria's years of knowledge in the field helping her out in her new position as the director. She found herself enjoying it way more, smiling as she helped others flourish in the spotlight while she comfortably remained a safe distance from it. More importantly, she found a true companion in Linus, the tiny Fae with a big personality. In some way, she reminded her of her brother, and Nymeria grew to care for her like a sister she never had. When Linus learned of her dream to have her own aquarium, she helped her new friend out, scouting for every possibility around the land of arcane, and finally, they struck gold in the Clan Of Starchasers.
In a magical corner of the clan laid a lovely town named Stellarium, a place brimming with potential. Nymeria and Linus settled into a comfortable house together, caring for their living space together. But, most importantly for them, there was so much empty space left in the area begging to be filled, to be developed and expanded. And that was where Nymeria finally fulfilled her dream - securing an empty lot that she quickly made into her dream aquarium.
At the present moment, Nymeria is heralded as one of Stellarium's most important founders by the mayor herself, being one of the first dragons to really get its name out there. Now the streets are filled with vibrant dragons of every shape and size, and many jump at the opportunity to visit her greatest achievement, losing themselves in the deep blue glow coming from each meticulously managed tank. Together with Linus, the duo had also made a name for themselves in the film department, now truly able to live their life lavishly and allow Nymeria to continue improving the aquarium (as well as the rest of the town).
Still, her journey is far from over - the Obelisk knew that despite meeting her goal, she still had a lot of growing to do, at least when it came to herself. Drizzle may have been out of the picture for some time now, but she's still learning to accept the fact that her one known blood sibling despised her for reasons she did not understand. Nymeria has also been pushed by both her adoptive siblings to be more assertive and confident, something she has yet to achieve.
Surrounded by the dragons she truly loves, however, is a great starting point. Even when Nymeria loses faith in herself, she knows there will always be someone to pick her up, someone to remind her that her passion will always be her greatest strength.

Trivia
♦ Nymeria is non-religious in regards to Sornieth deities; the only one she (and her brother) believes in is the Merrymaker, the god with the finest taste in wine.
♦ Has an elegant French accent, obviously. Also has very pretty handwriting.
♦ Surprisingly, she is not at all picky with food, easily consuming what other dragons may conventionally presume to be "gross" ie. blue cheese (which is her favorite type of cheese).
♦ Likes all aquatic creatures, but has a soft spot for tiny, colorful fishes.
♦ She is fully oblivious to the fact that Linus has a crush on her, and views the Fae as a sister.
♦ Her pet corgi is named Loaf. She's the sweetest cuddlebug ever, recently adopted after settling into Stellarium.
♦ Nymeria does not like displaying photos of herself in her room, being the farthest thing from vain. However, she has a portrait of herself she has never removed from the wall - a gift from her brother when she was going through her internal turmoil regarding Drizzle.
♦ Her real parents would probably disapprove of her career choices, but would not actually despise her like what Drizzle had implied. Still, after the whole debacle, Nymeria isn't sure if she wants to meet them ever.
♦ She does not do much makeup, but is a big fan of nail polish and can almost be found wearing some.
