P.B. has encountered (and been responsible for) many a dead thing in her time. She stares up at the treebound skeleton with empty eyes, listening to the way the wind moves through the bones. When she is satisfied she knows what the currents have told her, she bends to draw an ever-curling line in the dirt below.
A Spiral, she thinks.

He was never one to turn down an adventure, but this might have been a bad idea. "Hate jungles... " he huffed under his breath, just before his eyes flicked up to catch sight of the bones hanging limply in the trees.
"Looks like that Spiral got into somethin' nasty, huh?" He said, shaking his head. Defeated by a boar— that had to be embarrassing. It'd never be him strung up in some piglet's tree.

(Hi there, could I be added to the pinglist, please? Thanks!)
Saikuras squints up at the skeleton. Absently, he scratches underneath his helmet; he can still feel the crack running along his cranial case. "I can't identify this conclusively....Looks like I lost more data than I thought. And it doesn't look like I can get closer, so I'll just have to make a guess."
"Well, the wings seem to have been fairly robust. I can't tell if they had a secondary pair of wings, and...is that a single horn atop the head? Perhaps this belonged to a female Pearlcatcher."

Tex pulled off his hat and craned back his neck to study the skeleton dangling from the tree above him. Noting the unusual length of the spine and what appeared to be ribs extending down the lumbar region, he sat back on his heels as he consulted his mental encyclopaedia of dragon breeds.
Peering closer at the hind-limbs of the poor dragon, (and regretting not bringing his binoculars) the bony spur-like structures arising from the tarsal region seemed to confirm his suspicions.
He turned to the dragon next to him-"looks like a spiral, doesn't it?". [/columns]

Seven fluttered towards the skeleton from where he had shot into the air to avoid the boar. He kept far enough away from the bones to avoid disturbing them.
"A spiral, I think." His voice was a monotone buzz, characteristic of the fae. "There seem to be bone protrusions on the arms and legs, and what else has secondary wings, plus a spine and tail so long?"

As an archaeologist, Morgana was quite used to uncovering skeletons. But the skeletons she uncovered were often buried a dragonlength under the sand or encased in a moldering tomb; she had never come across one in the upper branches of a tree!
Alagos rumbled a discontented growl and stepped in front of her, spreading a fluffy wing against her chest. "I think that's a mirror," he warned in a low voice, "we need to be careful."
She squinted her eyes and studied the corpse. Its head was facing forward, presenting a large nasal passageway. She thought she could just barely make out the outline of two ocular orbits on one side of its head, indicating that the deceased was indeed a four-eyed mirror like herself. Beyond that, there was a bony frill attached to one of its forearms, which was a characteristic of the mirror breed. It also had lanky proportions and a whip-thin tail, which many mirrors did. Her friend's gut assessment had probably been right; something had killed one of her own kind in the boughs of that tree.
She shivered.

Ximena adjusted his hat and eyed the skeleton with only a trace of unease. This was far fresher a leaving than most of the skeletons he encountered exploring ruins. Skeletons dangling from trees was somewhat new to him, too. But identifying the body was the same. "Length of the body between the forelegs and rear pair suggests Spiral. I'm having a hard time getting an angle on the skull, but the long neck on a skeleton that size also supports Spiral. A fae would be smaller." He looked around. "Spirals are quick, so whatever it was must've gotten the drop on them."
((Also, can you add me to the pinglist?))
