Biography

NOT FOR SALE, TRADE, OR LENDING

With a name like that, what else could he be but a ninja? ...OK, I'm kidding, he's actually a pharmacologist.

Saikuras is a golem created many centuries ago by a band of medical and pharmacological researchers. In those days, dragonkind was still relatively new to Sornieth, and there was much they did not know about the plants around them, particularly which ones could hurt or heal -- or both. Saikuras was meant to serve as a living repository of any knowledge the researchers gathered, a sort of computer that could both amass and dispense knowledge to future generations of healers. His body was created from a strange combination of flesh, stone, and bone, and it was infused with the soul of a priest who'd been (willingly) sacrificed.

Saikuras performed his duties admirably for some years until he was badly damaged in an accident. The researchers put him into hibernation to heal. When he awoke many centuries later, he found that the accident had also wiped out huge chunks of his memory, including of the medical knowledge the researchers had worked so hard to gather. However, the new and changed Sornieth offered him many ways to reacquire this knowledge, and so he set out, together with his trusty staff, to begin learning anew.

He damaged his front limbs in yet another accident and came to the Disillusionists' lair in search of Gleam, the prosthetics maker. He soon decided to settle in the clan to continue his research. Despite having forgotten much of his past, he retains enough knowledge to be an effective healer, and is particularly skilled in identifying and using medical substances from plants. His specialties are poisons and antidotes.

His front limbs and hind feet have been replaced with stone prostheses. Contrary to all appearances, he does not have a skull head -- it is simply a bone helmet, made by his creators to protect his head after the accident. Underneath that, he looks like an ordinary Skydancer. His staff has been with him since his creation and also holds some magic of its own.
