Things other people should know before interacting with my explorer: Izar has absolutely no sense of direction, so by all means, ask him for directions! It'll be funny. He's also easy to amuse and easy to annoy, so don't take him too personally. He's just touchy. He'll also be stressed because he misses his storm-colored gatherer of a boyfriend. Ekaitz came to get him the last time he got lost, hopefully he can do it this time too! (Izar's full story is in his bio.)

My chosen map marker is:
A brief introduction of my dragon explorer: Izar is tempermental and has absolutely no sense of direction. His clan recently moved from the Crystalspine Reaches to the Ashfall Wastes and he might have gotten a little lost on the way there.
I am open to RP interaction: Yes

Optional for RPers
Personality of your dragon explorer: Izar is a scholar, but that doesn't mean he always stayed holed up inside even if he should for his own safety. He's passionate, quick to smile and quick to take offense at a slight, real or imagined. When he takes offense, he huffs off. Unfortunately, he gets lost easily. Very. Easily.

My RP post: Lethe wandered, attempting to not breathe in the putrid air. @brevityis (I suppose I’ll just say hello to Izar) Lethe closed her eyes, sending energy fizzle and spark in the air around her, humming, uneducated memory, or a fabric that had to be torn. She ripped a split I’m the fabric, creating a blinding crimson vortex in front of her, which she stepped into, letting her instincts guide her. She stepped out, and almost fell from the sky, the portal disappearing in a blinding flash of scarlet light behind her. She had flown into a Coatl before she had managed to right herself. With a hiss, she dived backwards and circled around, warily studying the Coatl. When she had confirmed that he was no threat, she said shortly, “I apologize.”

Usually, though, he didn't get too lost, and could eventually rely on a friendly clanmate to point him in the right direction. Getting so lost the ground started to get gooey was a bit new, however. The last time he got this lost, he'd wound up passing around the Twisting Crescendo. Since then, Ekaitz had begged him to just stay where he was until someone came to rescue him when he got lost. And the ground wasn't totally ooze yet, so Izar decided this was the best possible option of places to wait. It was just, well, he was hungry. And did the usual rules even apply, when the whole clan was moving, looking for a new home? Would anyone be coming to find him?

"Just as you suspect, I've come exploring in preparation for the festival. My clan is huge and most of them love festivals so figuring out the logistics of moving about a hundred dragons through unfamiliar ground is important."

Nines smiles at her little act of defiance. Here they were, two dragons in an unfamiliar and hostile land but their natural element gifted them resiliance. It's neat to not only resist an element but also deal extra damage to it. Why is Light like that, though? Fire makes sense since the best way to keep things sanitized is with heat, as does ice since diseases can't spread easily in the cold, but why Light too? Maybe something in Light has a sanitizing element different from heat or cold... Some unseen and currently unknown force. He's going to make a note of this and see what he can do. Microscopes make the unseen able to be seen and if the rumors are true, Lightning may be working on an even stronger microscope.

"Indeed! I may be the largest breed of dragon but at least I'm small for my breed. It makes everything so much easier for how I like to live. Others are more aggressive than me so they're happy to be big and that's just fine. We need all sorts to make a stable clan."

The abstract lines begin coalescing into what seems like an Imperial's bust. A crude self-portrait or a friend, maybe?

@Galatheid (sure! Not sure how many replies i'll be able to give you, but happy to take part!)

The answer to if anyone was coming to find him was, apparently, 'sort of.'

Izar yelped as another dragon flew into him, knocking him to the oozing ground. "What did I ever do to you?" he asked irritably, getting to his feet and fanning his wings in irritation. Threats were not the first thought in his mind; that was the job of the clan warriors.

At least this strange... Izar took her in properly... Skydancer... had the decency to apologize, however rudely. "Didn't your mother ever teach you not to fly into other people? Where did you even come from, anyway?" he huffed, looking down at his ooze-covered foreclaws in disgust. He might not know where he was going, but he did know she hadn't been there a minute ago!

"My mother believed that other - activities - were more important." She did not elaborate. "As for where I came from, I was across the Wasteland when I my vortex brought me here." The eerie crimson glow in her eyes faded as she turned to inspect the dripping environment. "Why are you here? This does not seem to be an ideal sightseeing location."

"That's quite alright! Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. Though I like to explore and learn, I'd probably be lost on the process too. I don't know of any dragons that can be a generalist and a specialist at the same time and I'm firmly in the generalist group. I figure it's good to know an okay way out of any situation rather than an excellent way out of only one situation in my role."

He pulls out a well-worn journal and some ink before plucking a stiff tail tip hair to use as a quill to make a note of the process.

"Arcane, Nature and Ice... Makes sense to me and I'm sure our alchemists can reverse-engineer it from that starting point. One of the benefits of being such a big clan means we have all kinds of different dragons helping each other out and plenty of resources to experiment with. This could be a huge breakthrough in travel, thank you so much!"

He finishes with a little flourish because he can and it's fun. If you can have fun on the job, you may as well, right?

"A strange trail? Neat! I'll be sure to check that out afterwards. If something came in here that isn't normally around it could mean creatures are adapting and expanding to different environments. It's good to track that since I can't imagine flameweed being a very good neighbor to most other plants. It could disrupt the ecosystem and bring everything crashing down... not good at all. With everything changing so quickly it's best to be prepared for the seemingly impossible."

He makes a mental note of the location.

"As for landmarks, it seems the locals have found a way to create their own. A few days ago I came across some braided tendrils and yesterday I found a bone shrine to the Plaguebringer. It takes a sharp eye to spot them, so I wouldn't be surprised if most dragons missed them. Your goblin looks quite observant, so maybe you could have them look out for small dragonmade structures to help orient yourself?"

@BoggyMcBogface ~ re: this post

“I am from the Plateau to the South, not far from here, but you could say that I was coming home.” Iblis said, brushing off the thorns that clung to her fur. She looked over the Fae, one familiar with walking the undergrowth. Iblis could not help but feel a twinge of respect for the explorer, having spotted her so quickly.

“It does seem that there is more activity here these days. Luckily, those I’ve met so far have been friendly.” She paused, perking her ears for moment, ensuring that there were no surprises in hiding, before continuing.

“Though, my guild has heard of less-benign stirrings in the wastes. There are rumors of skirmishes, more than usual. A chief calling their dragons to battle. We suspect that the tribes may be readying for war. I’ve been sent to investigate. Better to prevent the damage than pick up the pieces afterwards.” The Gaoler straightened up, out of the cramped bush.

“If I may ask, have you seen anything unusual about the dragons you have met? Any strange happenings? Or perhaps plague-born dragons with the markings of bones upon their scales? Any information you can spare would be invaluable.”
