Simple in idea, difficult in practice."[/b] He back-winged until he was hovering near the largest of the bellows they had laid out. [b]"Take your time with it. [b]"Another go? Gotta guess we did somethin' right."[/b] The imperial's efforts this time were fairly well-rewarded. The first push on the bellows was still too hard, toppling the plate with the embers on it. Fuller got everything put right quickly and without judgement, encouraging the imperial to keep trying. Her next nineteen attempts were done with not one bottle broken. [b]"Excellent! D' y' wan' me t' put these aside, an' y' can grab 'em on yer way out?"[/b]

She was more sure of her skill and as patiently as she could, she went into a zen like state and aimed the bellows at the embers in hopeful anticipation.

After several minutes of this she gives her notes a quick looking over and tucks them away into her satchel before taking flight and landing near the bellows. She then speaks in a very small voice "I think I have observed enough now to perform competently, might I try?"

The previous day she'd broken one more bottle than she did the day before, but one of her attempts ended up being a perfect! 'Quality over quantity' was how the expression went, right? So she still took it as a win, and a sign she was going about things the right way. The ever growing collection of bottles she'd collected to take back home and share with her sister was another sign of that. And a few of them had even started to sprout too! She wondered at what kind of flowers would bloom from them. Her mom liked cherry blossoms, her sister was fond of lilies, and Amy herself always had a soft spot for sunflowers, but really she was sure whatever the turned out to be would end up being super cool. They were [i]fire[/i] flowers after all. But to find out she had to keep doing her best each day!
