[center][i]Third Event:[/i] [b]Cross-Country Skiing[/b] [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=30569382] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/305694/30569382_350.png[/img] [/url] [i]Kor[/i][/center] [rule] Although used to traversing more temperate climates, Kor had been more than willing to sign up for the cross-country skiing event. He rarely flew on his explorations once he'd arrived at his target area, preferring to journey by foot so as to better observe the native environment. As a result the long course for the event hadn't intimidated him, and in fact he'd been quite interested in trying out a new mode of transport. As he trekked past towering pine trees draped in snow he kept his pace steady, knowing how important it was to maintain his stamina. He knew there were a few skiers somewhere ahead of him but he wasn't particularly worried about overtaking them, instead choosing to appreciate the beauty of the scenery around him. After all, the journey itself was often more satisfying than the destination.

[center][i]Fourth Event:[/i] [b]Ski Jumping[/b] [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=31825133] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/318252/31825133_350.png[/img] [/url] [i]Tinsel[/i][/center] [rule] Tinsel rocketed down the track with a surprised shriek of delight, the wind whipping past her. As her skis left the ramp she remembered to keep her wings tucked tightly against her body and leaned forward as far as she could, angling her skis outward into a V shape. For several sustained seconds she felt the odd sensation of gliding through the air wingless before the ground reemerged and she shifted into a better landing position. Her skis made contact with a whump as her momentum carried her towards the far end of the course. Coming to a stop she caught her breath, unable to keep the grin off her face. It was her first time experiencing anything like that and it had been unexpectedly exhilarating.

[b]Luge (Sledding)[/b] [center][url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=2550683] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/25507/2550683_350.png[/img] [/url][/center] [i]It has been some time since Sideswipe had watched his mates make their way towards the stands, and Sideswipe can feel a quivering knot of anticipation still thickening in his gut. When had he last had the chance at some fun outside of the Isles? Or had even been allowed to "breathe" on his own? In his mind, he took a long moment to worry at the fuzzy void glaring back in place of an answer. Sideswipe shook his head as though to clear those darkening thoughts away - there was no point in lingering on the what-ifs of the past, or to let anything spoil his "now". And as he shifted his helmet into place, that knot finally seemed to bloom and creep into his blood with a blaze at its heels. He grinned at the track he had come to conquer. No time like the present![/i]

[b]Luge[/b] [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=12021593] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/120216/12021593_350.png[/img] [/url] With a low center of gravity, Kaas knew this was the event for her! With the blessing of the clan Kaas was tireless in her training. She watched ice penguins and how they slid on their bellies and knew she could do it too. One of the critical parts of the Luge was the start. If you didn't get a good start, there wasn't much you could do to regain momentum. When it was her turn she was calm and ready to go. 1,2,3! What a fantastic start!

He wasn't much of a sports man - he preferred his activities to be practical - but somehow, he'd been roped into this. It definitely didn't have to do with a certain exciteable boyfriend. [i]"Go for it!"[/i] he'd said, [i]"You've got great legs, you'll be a show-stopper! Best of the best!"[/i] If he knew how to do anything, it was how to flatter Rush... Rush shook his head. Enough of that nonsense, he needed to focus. And unstrap some of his excess, he shouldn't need a sword unless he'd severely mistaken what sort of "winter games" these were.

Luuuuuuuuuuge.[/i] What a funny word. Kai sounded it out in his head. He didn't know much about luge, just that you put yourself into a sled contraption and shot yourself down a hill at maximum speed. Sounded like his kind of sport. Peeking out from his hiding spot underneath a spectating family of ridgebacks, the snowy fae surveyed the area before sprinting towards the Luge area. He technically (technicalities were great) wasn't supposed to be here, and if his parents found him he'd be grounded for like, years. [i]You only live once![/i]

[color=green][b]Figure Skating[/b] [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=4347150] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/43472/4347150_350.png[/img] [/url] There was a spot of time before the skiing events started, so Blush took a fancy to entering his own event - he'd see his boyfriend's later. He was clad in lighter apparel now, though he'd enjoyed the Ice aesthetic from the year's chains, they clanked most unmusically when he had been practicing his jumps and twirls. Now all he had were light, billowy fabric, perfect for a show. Elegant, dazzling. Not a competitive fellow, Blush was here for the fun and show, not to win - though that would be a bonus, if he could. He'd give it his best!

@Firra After his race, Thar stopped by one of the Winter Games booths, looking for something a bit warmer to wear in the cold. He purchased a scarf that might make his stay in the Southern Icefields a little more comfortable. [item=Blue and Brown Flair Scarf] @Gazaereal After watching their clanmate participate in the figure skating event, the dragons decided to browse the Gala stalls for souvenirs to take back to their clan. Trinkets for the hatchlings were purchased; hopefully they would enjoy them. [item=Charged Stormcatcher Sackdoll] [item=Spiral Daze] @SnowySwirl Cerise joined the crowd of festival attendees, browsing the souvenir stands on the last day to pick up a last minute purchase or two to take home. The fae managed to time his shopping perfectly, as a stall attendant put up a sign, "Last day! 1/2 off!," just as he stepped into the wooden stand. [item=spiral daze] @Watercolour Areharu had gotten his event over early in the games and had plenty of time to enjoy the Winter Carnival. Now that his visit to the Southern Icefields was nearly over, he figured he might as well make a few purchases. The half off sign caught his eye and now he was the proud new owner of some random items that would likely just gather dust on a shelf (while serving as a fond reminder of his time at the '18 Gala).
