But I feel like I want to try doing this, especially because the 'heir' is not just the first hatchling but actually something they need to battle for. That's cool. :D

This seems like such a fun thing to do! I haven't done any lore-writing for my lair yet, since I'm waiting until I get everyone situated with their ideal genes and mates and such. I kinda want to try...but I I know I don't have the lair space. XD Perhaps once I manage to expand a few more times! Meanwhile, I'm subscribed and following along with all of you!

And I must admit, those girls ARE born fighters - dodging like mad, and not at all intent on going down.
...And in the fourth battle, Savannah falls. There goes my primary gened Skydancer.
Fifth battle. Three enemies appear. Both Pearlcatchers are on their last slither of health. Again, they strike down Savannah - but that doesn´t count. The next attack goes towards Xaress - she dodges! And then, Haela falls only seconds before her younger sister does. This makes Xaress my heir! I´m at the same time excited and dissapointed.

So, I've been dancing around the idea of doing this challenge for a while now. I finally broke down and bought a founder and her mate. I'll probably edit/rewrite their lore later, because I don't feel like editing it right now.

Static is a skilled fighter. She works as a part time assassin/mercenary for rich clans. She often gets the drop on her mate Alvar. She will not tolerate weakness.
Static was separated from her parents at a young age, taken in by a clan of assassins. There, she learned how to fight, and how to fight dirty. After she grew up, she faked her own death so she could be free of responsibility. Her clan's kill or be killed rules stuck with her.

His mate, Static, impressed him. They meet every so often, sometimes as friends, and sometimes as enemies. They always fight to a standstill. No outsiders actually know if they could or would actually kill each other.
(Now to wait until they're RTB)
