A dragon sitting behind a lectern next to the entrance perks up at your sight, quickly making themself known. "Welcome to [b]Tear-and-Taste[/b]! Table for one?" Their accent is odd, unplaceable. “Our selection is particularly varied this time.” Their brows raise by just a fraction, hinting at mischief. “If you’re lucky, you might even find newly printed ones. They can taste a touch intense, but you seem like an adventurous sort.” You nod, your curiosity piqued. They give you a brief smile before flagging down a waiter in an unfamiliar lilting dialect. The waiter, a skittish-looking Fae, wastes no time leading you through the densely packed buffet tables. Other patrons engage their feasts as you walk past them. A young purple Aether fluttering their wings as they rip out the pages of a delectable looking cookbook. A deep red Aether has three large tomes open at once as they gorge themselves on page after page, haphazardly mixing the intense flavors of their chosen meals. A pair of white and green Aethers sit close together, delicately tearing out pages as they quietly smile and whisper in each other’s ears. Rounding into a table in a quiet corner, the waiter departs with a quick bow after bidding you a pleasant evening. You browse the nearest shelf, pleased at the wide variety of books, all yours for the choosing. Pulling one out at random, you turn over a small card attached to the cover. It tells you that the thin book you've chosen has "a subtle and refreshing taste, with hints of citrus and green apple—a perfect snack for warm weather."
