Bit of an odd title, I know, but basically show me dragons who've worked up their courage and pushed through something hard. I've been putting off several really important tasks thanks to getting stuck in one of those endless anxiety loops (I procrastinated doing the thing and now will have to face consequences for it, if I do the thing the consequences will be real and I don't want to, I continue to procrastinate making the consequences worse, rinse and repeat) So show me those brave souls who've grit their teeth and just done "the thing." Could be something small (sent that email, asked someone for help) or something big (saved the world, started a clan) Here's mine: Nobody pushes through his own brain fog every day to stay present in the real world (writing from personal experience? couldn't be me...) always nice to see Trist around, i love that guy. here are a couple of my dragons that fit the description! wishing you well in that fight. sometimes the brain is its own worst enemy. MetalViolets was hatched with a condition that weakened his body and magic. despite this, he has worked alongside his fellows to develop technology that lets him engage even more proficiently with the world of innovation and invention. he refuses to let the circumstances of his hatching hold him down, perhaps to a fault; he has only recently made a friend who helps him to realize when he needs to slow down so as to not overwork and injure himself. him and Resistor have quickly become inseperable. Centauri, an imperial widow, took him under her wing soon after he entered the clan. she takes care of him like she had all of her children before they left the nest. ultimately, they help each other heal from their wounds. I relate so completely with the procrastination/anxiety loop. [emoji=obelisk deadpan size=1] Your dragons are absolutely lovely and I hope they're happy with themselves and what they've accomplished! He did the hard thing by standing up for himself and communicating what he wanted & needed, and he knows that you can do it, too. Also, he has a frog friend now. Anxiety/procrastination/anxiety loop, how well do I know thee . . . . Yes. There are times when the brain really has a hard time not shooting itself in the foot. Times like those, I find I can move forward if I take it one small step at a time, and remember not to beat myself up for not "doing better." Not surprisingly, my dragons tend to deal with stuff of one degree or another, and some of them have lore about it. Here are a couple! Jager is compulsive and will literally drive himself to collapse when he's chasing something. Fortunately he has his familiar to (literally) pick him up and help him carry on. Dawnsinger spent a good chunk of her young adulthood restless and unable to find purpose, so much so that she remained nameless. She stumbled into my dragons' clan as a Nocturne, where she spent more time trying to figure out her life. Eventually things within her started to stabilize. She found a friend who also lacked a name (and had been through some nastiness he didn't want to talk about). She found others willing to help her with her goals. And there was another little change which helped her finally break free of being stuck. Isak being a wisened old man dragon is such a sweet theme i need to rewrite the story in his bio, ill get around to it maybe someday probably not, but he lost his only family and had to go off to find his own, fighting the fear of being caught in the same way. once finding xeo (his partner) he had to overcome his mindset towards having any type of relationship. the only ones he had ever had were with his siblings, what if this one ended the same way? the two groups of dragons hed met were his siblings and the ones who had attacked them. his siblings were gone, the attackers were still out there. he finally got the strength to decide that he was allowed to be happy despite his past, and that he shouldnt feel guilty for being free when his siblings werent (with a lot of help from xeo, velvet-his advisor- and his other new friends), and that the only way to help them was to get back on his feet. that was why he started his clan in the first place, but a lovely side affect was to be able to rebuild his family, having his own daughters and being surrounded by dragons he cares about (i looked a lot more into his character as i wrote this and might add it to his bio!) My dragons are all outsiders and have fought hard and live together in a safe community for dragons in similar situations for the better! And I might not know you, but I always say Tundras were meant for hugging and if you need it, I can do that job well, I think!
[/columns] Yorko is a Naomi descendent with an uncertain past. He is a child at heart and riddled with a lot of anxiety and memory problems, not to mention very weak wings that keep him grounded. The world has chewed him up and spat him out and he doesn't even remember it, but he wants to leave the world better than he found it and enjoys his life in this clan of misfits, striving to fill the Scarred Wasteland with color everyone can enjoy. He worries often and chronic illness/injury weighs him down with alarming frequency, but he tries to keep his head up and stay strong. Life is tough, but Yorko is sure he can be tougher. Tired of suffering all the time, Photophobious took off to find somewhere kinder to his eyes, but recognized he would more than likely die on the journey. He ran out of stamina in the Scarred Wasteland, he accepted this was probably where he was going to die, only to wake up in the clan infirmary, in the dark shelter of a cave lair. Photophobious eventually recovered and took to roaming around in the dark of night inside, and decided to use his Shadow magic and keen eyes to help the clan with security, creating disorienting Shadow runes to befuddle trespassers. He has even collaborated with Yorko to blend his runes into Yorko's paintings and decorations, making sure the clan dragons know where they are and intruders don't.

Ah, I'm... I'm no inspiration. Something to say? Well... if I know anything... it's always darkest before the dawn. If things seem bleak now, I'm sure something wonderful is just around the corner. And you deserve to reach it.
Photophobious is hyper-sensitive to light and existence in his home of the Tangled Wood was a pain, under the daylight for obvious reasons and even at night, the bioluminescent flora still irritated his many eyes. He has even collaborated with Yorko to blend his runes into Yorko's paintings and decorations, making sure the clan dragons know where they are and intruders don't.

erebos was manipulated and emotionally abused by his sister nyx, as she'd always seen him as the dumber, more easy-going sibling, someone who's strength could be used. he makes little golems now that he's separated from her!
