They may be hard to see, but all throughout the Clan of the Wounded's lair are small runes carved into the walls. They are security measures, primed and loaded with defensive security magic, though as of yet, the runes have only increased in numbers and never been used. The dragon behind these magical creations is none other than Photophobious, who can be hard to miss, granted, because he dwells primarily in the darker corners of the lair. He has been employed by Marshal to prepare disorienting shadow magic runes to be activated on detection of a hostile intruder.

Photophobious was abandoned as a hatchling for his freakish appearance. Left alone, he was hardly capable of fending for himself, not only as a hatchling, but due to his many eyes, his already existing light sensitivity as a Shadow dragon increased tenfold. Moving out in the open became near impossible for him, leaving him to only travel by night, and even then, on nights when the full moon shone particularly bright, it was discomforting enough to prevent him from moving. Bright flashes from attacks, fire, glinting water or gems were all enough to paralyze him, and as a barely-surviving adult roaming with no purpose, Photophobious had resigned himself to die. That was, until, he was found by Ares on the edge of the Clan of the Wounded's territory. The Scarred Wasteland was where he was intending to die, knowing there was positively no way he could survive the travel through such a harsh land. However, he was brought to the sheltered safety of the lair, where Marshal and Stella agreed his hypersensitivity could be utilized in clan security.
