Low as in, the odds should be much worse [/quote] it's because OP is looking at ANY triple. 177 colors possible odds of landing the same 3 colors in the set: (1/177)^3 = 1/5,545,233 BUT since any color is acceptable so long as it's the same color in all 3 rolls (prim, sec, tert) we have to multiply by the # of possible sets. fuchsia is just as valid as moon! ([1/177]^3)*177 = 1/31,329 or 1 in 31,300, thereabouts. mind you that's still a MINISCULE chance. to compare: odds of hatching a shiny pokemon in the new games are 1/512 endgame. my last hunt was 1,832 eggs at those odds--meaning i went more than triple what the numbers suggested would happen. and that's totally normal. 1,200 or 1,300 egg hunts are frequent because 1/512 is still something like 0.19% chance of any egg popping out shiny. for better comparison: your odds of being [i]literally struck by lightning[/i] are just 1 in 15,300 [s]btw can i be on the pinglist[/s]
