Hopefully one of those will be what you're looking for.

If they don't work with your brain, they don't work with your brain. It might be worthwhile looking at the guides for the lower difficulties to see how the patterns build on themselves but if it's not your thing it's okay to leave it alone.

This. Also I do think the star symborl works best.
Should have a link to the guide at the bottom which jas an explanation for what they mean by right.

Otherwise as the other person said it's just not for you.
