It was possible,there's someone caught once in month I think,usually they're South American riders.
The biggest most recent affair was Cobo,who has lost Vuelta 2011 because of this.I can't imagine Froome's shock when he was in hospital and he got to know that he won a GT 8 yrs ago xD

Pinot feels good in mountains and he is or always tries to be in front of the peloton when there's mountain stage.He can't lose any distance to his rivals or else it will counted in seconds as lose.The fight is for not having those distances,or,even making them in front of rivals.Démare doesn't care about it,he always gets quickly dropped in mountains,and stays in so-called groupetto.But,Démare's target is stage wins.He's being leaded out on a flat stage to "attack" in last few meters and cross the line first.
Yeah,he is in the breakaway today again!

It was really heartbreaking to see him literally crying I cried too [emoji=coatl sad size=1]
All that left me is believing in Barguil's stage win or possibly that Alaphilippe will finish in yellow (At least Barguil is in the breakaway)
