Basically Redoing my Clan's Lore- for the third time.
Certain acacia trees have protein-rich growth on them, which are food for ants that have a symbiotic relationship with the tree.
However, sometimes, there is a second type of invertebrate inhabiting the tree. A small jumping spider called Bagheera kiplingi. It doesn't eat the ants, since it is small and groups of ants could easily take it down. Instead, it uses its natural hunting skill to get past the ants undetected to also eat the tree growths. Omnivorous spiders are not that in common, but this one tops it by actually being mostly herbivorous. Up to 90% of its diet has been reported to be plant matter.
