I've only ever gotten one egg well over 5,000 battles. It was a light egg from the Training Fields. That was many months ago, so I probably am far past 10,000+ battles, distributed between all of the available fields.

Harpy's Roost: Roughly 500 battles in, and only a single Crate drop. No eggs, and around 7 familiars or so.
Gonna try farming for an egg at the T-Fields next, probably 200 battles a day.
