Clans had gathered in celebration, some swapping mimic stories as they chuckled. Outside the festivities the hatchlings had gathered. They had built a fort and were deep in their game of storming their castle. Toy swords clashed between the hatchlings. "Take that villain!" "Villain, I'm not the villain, you are!" They had been through this about three times. Everyone wanted to be the hero not the villain. They had tried to dress a Corgi as a dragon but the dog could not keep up with so many hatchlings. The argument died down once the rough housing continued, the hatchlings laughing but still they had no idea who was the villain. Little did the hatchlings know they were being watched. A group of mimics had gathered and watched the hatchlings, it all looked like fun to them. They wished to play too but weren't certain what to do until they heard the argument. They could be the villains! They didn't mind if it meant they could play. The mimics murmured to each other, if they were going to do this they would make it the best game. Combining their magic the mimics started to change the area around them. The wooden swords the hatchlings held took on a metal appearance, clanging together. It spooked a few hatchlings until one noted they were still light. One swung at a nearby stump but found the sword bounced off like it was still wood. They then noticed that other things changed. Cardboard armor now looked like metal. The garden now was a spooky forest, and their once cardboard castle now loomed in the distance. "What's going on?" Someone asked. "Certainly you can tell!" A booming voice shouted. "I have come to issue you a challenge. Send your best adventurers to challenge me! Face me in my castle if you dare, for I am the Mimic King and I will rule this land and conquer the world!" The hatchlings gathered together to select the heroes. "Firhab and I will go!" The monotone voice of a fae called out, Spartrix was her name. She sat on the Obelisk's head clinging to the thick green mane. "I suppose we can," Firhab nodded. "I wanna kick the Mimic King!" Rogtumble shouted, the Banescale grinned as she approached. "You will certainly need me to solve puzzles!" Ferthaz, a clever spiral approached. "Can't be all muscle after all." "Here I come a Wortestraling!" Wortestral, a mirror should out, "What's an adventure without music?" "Okay, I think we have our party," Ferthaz nodded. "Let's go-" "Wait for me!" Dermeeti ran forward clutching a Flower Vulpine Plushie. The coatl was one of the youngest of the group. "I wanna come too." "Of course you can come, Dermeeti." Firhab spoke up before anyone could argue. "Just stay near me. "Right! Oh, Marley should stay here, it's dangerous." Dermeeti set the plush down, even if he didn't really want to leave it behind. "Okay, now we have our party, let's go!" Ferthaz pointed onwards. "The rest of you, we're gonna need supplies! There's no telling what we'll encounter. We'll scout ahead, you all gather what you can and follow behind!" Having their own jobs made the rest of the hatchlings not argue, plus most were a tad frightened of the voice. "Good luck!" She’s considered to be level headed by most but this is mostly caused by the monotone voice. Still, compared to the others she probably is the most level headed of the group. Her companion mimic is Stabby, the Enchanted Armaments that certainly wonders how this game will go and will protect the friendly hatchlings at all cost. [center][url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/72615289][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/726153/72615289_350.png[/img][/url] [b]Firhab - Barbarian - Obelisk [/b][/center] Large and certainly not in charge is Firhab who is the group’s muscle due to her larger size, in fact Spartrix usually hitches a ride on top of Firhab for ease. Firhab is a gentle giant though and believes that violence isn’t the answer… Until it is, which then maybe get out of her way. Her companion is Slicer who is certainly more destructive than Firhab, but it is an axe so it’s hard to blame it. The best fighter of the group she can be a tad violent but she does care deeply about her friends, she just prefers to kick things. Her companion is the excited Thimble, a Steadfast Sweeper, a friendly broom that is ready to act as a bo-staff for its new friends. His excitement is infectious to the others and they seem to forgive him easily when he gets too bossy. His companion mimic is Eldglow a Ensorcelled Volume filled with the spells Ferthaz uses, at least Ferthaz believes they’re spells, honestly he doesn’t read mimic. [center][url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/72562929][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/725630/72562929_350.png[/img][/url] [b]Dermeeti - Coatl - Ranger [/b][/center] The youngest of the group personality wise at least, Dermeeti is a sweetheart who cares deeply about the others and was the most nervous to go on the adventure but was happy to be included. Typically seen with a plush of some sort, most recently a Flower Vulpine Plushie, Dermeeti has left them at home because this battle is too dangerous, a decision he wasn’t sure was right as he misses having something to hold. His companion mimic is Mr. Buttons, once meeting the mimic Dermeeti was filled with joy and happily carried the Mirror Doll around. [center][url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/72562870][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/725629/72562870_350.png[/img][/url] [b]Wortestral - Mirror - Bard [/b][/center] You can hear Worsteral coming as this mirror believes that a song will brighten anyone’s day and anyone who is grumpy about his singing clearly just needs another song. Interrupting him will just cause him to sing louder and become off-key. When encountering a new enemy Wortestral is known for yelling “Here I come a Wortestraling”. His companion mimic is Forte, a fiddle that is happy to accompany a dragon that is so eager to sing. [b][/b][b][/b]

Most of the group was unable to fly yet, mostly hover. Ferthaz was the most experienced flyer of the group followed by Rogtumble. "This fog is nonsense." Ferthaz grumbled. "Seems odd for it to just arrive like this." Spartrix agreed, looking around from Firhab's back. They had been walking for a minute before the fog seemed to lift revealing…. A town? The hatchlings had played with fake shops before but this seemed like a full sized town. "How is this in our backyard?" Ferthaz questioned. "No idea, but I'm gonna kick it." Rigtumble ran up to one of the buildings and kicked it. It didn't feel right, her claw made contact with something but certainly not wood or stone. "WELCOME!" A voice shouted, getting their attention. The group turned to see a… top hat? Despite the monotone sound, Spartrix tilted her head as evidence of her confusion. "Just as I thought! I am Mayor Mimic!" The top hat announced, "I am here to help you on your quest. You see the Mimic King was once a Mimic Peasant before he discovered great power and-" "Oh my Earthshaker, he's going to give us nothing but exposition for ten minutes," Rogtumble grumbled. "What's Exposition?" Dermeeti questioned. Rogtumble pointed with her tail at Mayor Mimic, "Exactly what he's doing." The top hat was going, ignoring the fact that he was indeed being ignored by a group of hatchlings. "And that is why you must face him before-" Mayor Mimic was cut off by a terrifying growl. "It seems the Mimic King has already sent his forces to stop you!" The town of… strange mimics started to panic as a Jawlocker burst into the town, snarling and chomping at the air. "Wait, how do we fight that thing?" Spartrix questioned. "Maybe we don't have to fight it?" Firhab hoped. "Sure we can sing it a happy tune," Rogtumble snarked. "Really?" Worsteral was clearly excited by the idea. "No! We kick it!" Rogtumble got ready with the group. Maybe they didn't think this through. "I wish Marley was here," Dermeeti whispered to himself, wishing he was hugging any of his plushies. He closed his eyes tightly as the Jawlocker drew closer. Then he felt something beside his leg. Slowly opening his eyes Dermeeti looked down at a plush of a mirror that seemed to look back at him. "Hello?" The plush hopped a bit and seemed to magically give Dermeeti a bow. "Uh guys?" The group looked on in confusion until the Mayor Mimic called out, somehow the hat was now on top of one of the buildings, "You do not need to fight alone young ones! You have allies! You are the ranger! The Pinpush Mirror Doll shall fight beside you, he is-" "MR. BUTTONS!" Dermeeti shouted, "That's what I'll call you!" The coatl scooped the mirror doll up. "Uh… no his name is-" Mayor Mimic was confused and cut off by Firhab. "His name is Mr. Buttons." Firhab growled. "And you! Stop scaring my friends!" The obelisk jump forward towards the Jawlocker and roared filled with impossible strength just as a Axe Mimic joined her. The Jawlocker stopped, shocked by the roar it seemed. "You are the barbarian! The strongest party member!" Mayor Mimic shouted, "You will be joined by this Axe Mimic. I suppose you'll be naming it yourself." "Guess you're with me, Slicer." Firhab nodded "Hey. Don't forget I'm up here before you jump into danger." Spartrix was clinging onto Firhab for dear life. "Fear not, you are certainly brave! You are the fighter!" Mayor Mimic shouted out, "A trustworthy, levelheaded leader for the group! Your companion shall be these Enchanted Armaments!" Spartrix grabbed onto the sword and shield, "Guess it's time to get to work Stabby." "Spartrix is leader? Why?" Ferthaz questioned. "Because you typically don't want the mage in front, long… young one," Mayor Mimic did not know their names. "But every good mage needs a good book like this Ensorcelled Volume!" "Magic does sound cool, let's see the spells," Ferthaz looked to the flying book that had joined him. It opened and the spiral was confused, "okay… so, I don't read mimic." "Just call out the spell when you need it and your companion will try to use it." The Mayor responded. "Sweet, wait, try?" That typically was not good. "Alright Eldglow, let's get ready to fight." "Great, great, mimic companions, still gonna kick this thing." Rogtumble was still ready to go with no ally… until a broom tried to hold her back. "Really? A broom?" "Steadfast Sweeper will help you as you need, young monk but it knows when you need to wait." The Mayor responded. Rogtumble sighed, "Fine, what's its name?" "You're not naming it yourself?" Given how the others had do far it was odd to hear. "Uh, Thimble." "Alright, Thimble you better not stop me from kicking the Mimic King when we find him." Rogtumble grumbled. "Here I come a Wortestraling to provide you all with battle music!" Wortestral hopped forward. He was joined by a floating Fiddle. "Certainly a bard needs an instrument." The Mayor pleasantly called out. "That's my Forte!" Wortestral shouted. "Huh… that's actually his name." The Mayor was surprised but couldn't stay shocked for long as the Jawlocker was once again on the attack, but now the group was ready for a fight. "Charge." Spartrix called out.
