"So! Whooooo’s dead today?"
The air around Tequit slowly grew warmer as that "Chosen One" approached, presumably because his aura repelled the ghost that had been chilling the area with her presence. His voice was far too cheery for the tragedy he had walked in on. Slowly, the fairy nocturne lifted their head to meet the eyes of the only Light dragon who had dared set foot on this clan's territory. Did he think that this was a joke? Did his god think that these innocent lives lost were all a joke? Tequit sniffled as he set his watering can down and stood up, meeting the pearlcatcher face to face.
"Did you do this?" He asked as more tears rolled down his cheeks. "Why would you... how could you do such a thing?"
Laurent's insane smile faltered, but before he could reply, he was distracted by the sounds of two more dragons approaching. Tenebriel entered the scene with a look of resigned indifference, but the facade quickly faded as he once again saw the corpse surrounded by cats, changing his expression to one of grief and anger. Behind him, Holly appraised the scene with analytical eyes, before settling her glare on Laurent. "Is this the one?" She asked while raising her chin to look down her snout at the Light dragon. "You, traitor; speak quickly, before my spells speak for both of us."
"T-Traitor?!" Laurent stuttered, whipping his head around to see everyone surrounding him. "You think that I— haha! You think that I could have done this?! I'm seeing this for the first time right now, just like all of you!" He looked back down at the body of poor Aren, and realized with a start that something about it was shockingly familiar. But wait, would that mean— as soon as the thought crossed his mind, all familiarity was suddenly wiped from his memory. No, he must have imagined it.
"I knew it would be you," Tenebriel snarled, clutching the votes that he had collected on his way over tightly as if he was trying to strangle them. "It was never a good idea to let a Light dragon overstay their welcome here." He began moving closer towards the pearlcatcher, his eyes practically on fire from beneath his cloak. "Here I was, ready for you to prove me wrong, and look at what you've done! Look at the price I've had to pay for trusting you!"
Laurent stepped backwards, shaking his head rapidly. "No, you don't understand!" He pleaded. "It's not really me— something has been tampering with Fate, I know it—"
"What did all the guests ever do?!" Tenebriel shouted in response. "What did Twizzler do? What about Aren? CheapCereal and Leicester? Were they evil in your eyes, to whatever fate or karma you believe in? Would you have kept going until you tore down my shelter from the inside out?!"
Instead of replying, Laurent stumbled back and began clutching at his head. "This is all supposed to happen," he murmured - or rather, something murmured in his voice. "I'm not meant to leave yet— no, no, what am I saying?! Somebody, help me!!"
Whatever pity Tenebriel might have had for the fallen Chosen One was long gone by this point, and he only responded to his cries with a snarl. "Get out of my clan," he said in a dangerously low voice. "You warned me about my karma, and I've paid enough for it. Now I warn you about yours." Darkness began to gather about his talons, and the two dragons flanking him took up arms as well. Holly surrounded herself with the sickening aura of her deity, and Tequit's eyes began to glow as watery magic and floating shrapnel swirled around his body, ready to strike. Trees started to sway in a nonexistent wind as the universe threatened to crush the three who dared oppose its chosen, but Laurent managed to wrestle his own body under control just enough to turn tail and flee, never to be seen in the Hewn City again.
As the pearlcatcher ran away, the environment returned to normal, and the three dragons slowly set down their weapons and spells as the danger departed. A chill once again settled over the area, and a certain ghost mourned their own incompetence as they watched the pearlcatcher go. If the Killer had been anyone but Laurent, perhaps it would have chased after them and brought them an undeserved swift end. Unfortunately, the true culprit was still protected by his holy aura, despite the many atrocities he had committed. Shade could do nothing but watch and seethe.
After a while of tense silence, Tenebriel slowly exhaled, allowing his body to relax for the first time since he'd seen the original two bodies. It was over. "We'll need to rebuild," he murmured to Tequit, who remained faithfully at his side. "Revive the dead. Recover what was lost. It will take time." He looked back behind him, and saw Holly watching him with hopeful eyes. Behind her, Thunderdancer observed in silence from where he had been hidden the entire time, and even Chara and Sterling approached to see what the commotion was about. Even as he stood in the wake of everything that had happened to his clan, Tenebriel managed to weakly smile at the thought of regaining what had been taken from him. "But, it doesn't matter what it takes. It will be worth it."

Killer Faction:
The Killer in this game was: Laurent (played by nameofuser)
The Vengeful in this game was: Sterling (played by natsinabucket)
The Minion in this game was: Eden (played by pandakitty1)

Clan Faction:
The Guards in this game were: Holly (played by JellyRaven) and Asahi (played by SunSprite)
The Inseparables in this game were: Leicester (played by Capian) and CheapCereal (played by ChaoticFriendzy)
The Magist in this game was: Thunderdancer (played by KingJava123456)
The Seer in this game was: Chara (played by Scorisyn)
The Witness in this game was: Glenda (played by Ketchalin)
The Civilians in this game were: Tenebriel (played by Starwindrider), Tequit (played by TrueTerror), Twizzler (played by WyvernTales), Aren (played by AutumnFall123), and Shade (played by Storia)
Here's what happened behind each kill:
CheapCereal's death: Laurent carefully harvested corpsemaker ivy from the nearby delta, using his knowledge as a Light dragon to know where to find it and how to use it. When he returned to the clan, he used his weak telekinetic abilities to unlock CheapCereal's door from the inside, and then went inside and filled CheapCereal's cereal with the leaves of the ivy. He also placed the poisoned box of cereal at the front of the cabinet to ensure they would grab it.
Witness clue: The poisoned cereal was full of purple and green leaves.
Tenebriel's attempted murder: Using his inherent luck, Laurent easily stole all of the items he needed from Glenda and Tequit, and used Tequit's produce from the garden to lure Belph away. His experience as a Light dragon meant he was familiar with banded dart frogs, which he captured and used to poison shards of glass that he left at Tenebriel's door. He was not impaled by the shards himself due to his luck. Being the same size as Tenebriel, he was able to evade him by getting a head start in running away, then trapped him with the gasoline he stole from Glenda, and a Molotov made with materials from the same source.
Witness clue: The Killer easily avoided the glass shards by Tenebriel’s door.
Twizzler's death: Laurent happened upon a pit of venomous snakes by once again relying on his luck. He brought a large tarp that he used for camping on his travels and used his telekinesis to help set it up over the pit, and then
slaughtered a nearby animal and hung its remains high up so that Twizzler would see it
. Twizzler did not notice the tarp due to its dull coloration and it being far below his line of sight.
Aren's death: Laurent enchanted a small sculpture of an animal he had made to go distract Aren and non-lethally poison his tea. As the animated sculpture intercepted Aren, Laurent ran back to the manor and used a rope stolen from the clan's supply to hoist a statue up onto the roof. When Aren returned to look for an antidote, Laurent cut the rope, and his luck ensured that the statue fell perfectly on Aren's head, killing him in one blow.

Hello everyone! This is the last time I'll be pinging you individually, so if you want to receive future updates for the kills and exiles, please subscribe to this pinglist:
[pinglist=26208]
Day 0 has now begun, and it will end in 5 days. This is a time before kills begin to RP and get to know each other! You can also discuss relationships, and whether or not you intend to follow the relations given by RNG.
Also, please check the element(s) by your dragon's name. This indicates the elements that they can use magic of. If your dragon can use magic of other elements or doesn't use magic of assigned element, ping me in discussion and let me know so I can change it.
This is the general location of the clan, as decided by Storia, who plays Xari, the clan leader.
This sentence will be edited once roles have been sent out. All roles have been sent out. If you didn't get a PM, you are a Civilian.
If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask in our discord, or PM me personally if more appropriate. Have fun!

The morning air was crisp. As crisp as an area mainly surrounded by sturdy, large rocks could be - the distant, bordering lands of her hometown probably helped a little, with refreshing gusts of wind blowing their way and rejuvenating the now lone guardian of the shelter in, quite frankly, the middle of nowhere. The few colorful gemstones that decorated the edges of the temporary abode was the only reminder of where her heart truly belonged.
Xari looked up from her diary, having marked the start of today's date. She looked at the spires of the Crystalspine Reaches in the distance, her heart yearning to be back by Hazel's side. Her wife had been supportive and loving as usual, telling her to enjoy her time off and prioritize her safety over everything else (she even gave her a knowing wink towards the end, should any of Xari's encounters turn out to be more fruitful). It was why the Imperial found herself still keeping the little sanctuary up and running, even if it was nothing more than a polished cave with necessary commodities installed, with every passing traveler like herself adding to it as time goes on.
She looked at her wings briefly - their colors and patterns were perfect, the soft hues mimicking the break of dawn, but Xari wished that they did more than just act as her canvas on stage. If she had a pair of stronger ones, she would have been home, despite the storm still lingering over the border of Dragonhome and Starfall Isles. If the ones she did have wasn't already weakened from those days of forced training-
No. Now's not the time. Xari shook her head, holding out a talon as a familiar chirp greeted her. Polly landed on one of her claws, affectionately nuzzling her in greeting, before echoing her unspoken words. Posie's bowl was polished, the premises were clean, guest rooms were ready, and the food supplies were restocked. That could only mean-
"It's time for a new day!"
The Imperial walks towards the cave opening, spreading her wings in a welcoming gesture, her gaze now falling on the plains and any visitor who might want to stay for a while.

The two big cats yawned and stretched by Selkirk's side, clearly tired but already alert and ready to do their jobs to the best of their abilities.
They watched the two younglings play. Foo yawned and leaned on Sabre with half-closed eyes, and Sabre responded by begining to groom his guard partner. There were no threats nearby at the moment, so they took a second to relax. Even guards need to take care of themselves.

Selkirk and Jonathan were roughhousing in the clearing in front of the cave, the much-larger mirror gently playing with his much smaller cat brother. "Jonathan, stop!" He giggled, pushing the kitten away with a talon. "I'm here to help, not be a guest!"
"So you don't have time for even a little fun? BORRRR-ING! C'mon, fight me! Or are you scared?~" Jonathan playfully taunted. His words were only little meows and small body movements to anyone other than a cat or those related to Aren, the cat worshiper.
The two (along with the feeling guards, Sabre and Foo) had been staying with Xari for the past few days and likely would stay the entire summer. This will be Selkirk and Jonathan's first actual job, and where Jonathan wanted to loaf around, Selkirk wanted to do the best job he could. He wanted to make his dads proud, to live up to their belief in him, to become awesome like them.

Melo flared his wings as he alighted near the Earth-Arcane border, then winced as he nearly landed on a sharp rock. Yikes. Atop his head, Elo gripped tighter, and he quickly shook his head to clear his mind (and get Elo to loosen its grip - a tentacle was directly above his eyelid).
By right, his next stop would be the Crystalspine Reaches, but the current inclement weather somewhat prevented him from actually crossing the border. A shame, of course, but this meant that he could actually study Dragonhome's a for architecture bit longer.
There was a neat little cave nearby, and so Melo headed over as soon as he saw an orange Imperial standing near. Maybe they were the owner? If so, he could probably ask for directions to get to a hopefully less intense part of the storm.

Magenta was lost.
She had been for a couple days by now, her usual keeper long gone, but if she'd been paying more attention, she'd know this was entirely her own fault. It was her fault for getting distracted by a colorful bird and dashing off the path to chase it. It was her fault for insisting on crossing the rocky, not-glass-friendly terrain of Dragonhome to find her way back, something both inconceivably stupid and nowhere near suitable for a being of glass and her poor Serthis keeper. It was also her fault when she disturbed a busy band of Dusthides, causing both an uproar for caving in their tunnels and an avalanche for knocking a support pillar down. Several hijinks, hours of running, and her flame growing disturbingly dim at times, and now...
Magenta looked completely unaffected by anything, wandering in a winding, random path toward a sanctuary she was completely unaware existed. With how she swayed, one would think a single gust of wind could blow her over, but no, she was merely lost in her humming. It was a song she’d heard somewhere while on her patrols, but she didn’t bother trying to recall it. She would only forget it again if she tried.
Distantly she registered a cave nearby with a large, shimmery shiny imperial standing out front, but Magenta’s weakening flame had made her a little loopy. But it was still a shiny thing, and she was known to love those, even if they weren’t natural. The tune ringing throughout her glass body only grew softer as she stumbled toward the light, uneven footsteps ringing like tiny bells on the hard stone.

"A VISITOR! A VISITOR!"
If Xari was any other dragon, she would have cringed at the macaw's very loud, very unsubtle words, but being a friend of the bird for so long meant that her ears were attuned to such shrill noises. Instead, she lifted her head, her brown eyes catching sight of a fellow Imperial just like herself. She sees his movements, the way he was looking towards the distant stormy skies - ah, she found another traveler heading for the same spot. She smiled - this was the exact reason she set everything up for!
"Over here," she called out to the wandering dragon, beckoning him over. As he approached the sanctuary, Xari nods in a friendly manner before introducing herself. "Welcome! My name is Xari. Are you also heading for the Starfall Isles? The weather's a little rough over at the border, so you are welcome to stay here until it passes."
"We don't need your money! Just don't go around and start killing everyone or trouble's on the way!"
"Polly!" Xari reprimanded her feathered companion with some shock. She was used to her rather unsavory jokes, but she didn't expect her to drop one so soon in front of a completely new face. She turned to face the other Imperial again. "Sorry, don't mind my pet parrot! She can be feisty like that. But she's right about one thing, this shelter was a group effort, so don't worry about payment. Could you just write your name on this guest book here-"
Before she could finish her sentence, a few soft clinks on the dry earth caught Xari's attention. She looked around, spotting a figure almost as colorful as herself - dear Arcanist, was the stranger about to collapse? The new dragon, a Sandsurge as far as she could tell, was making her way towards the entrance with huge sways in her steps. Was she on the verge of fainting? Xari didn't know, but her heart dropped at the possibility.
"Selkirk! Would you mind looking after our guest here for a bit? Someone might need help!" The Imperial calls out to her assistant, a young Mirror who had enthusiastically volunteered after finding out she was the only one left operating the sanctuary. By now, she trusted him enough to run after the Sandsurge, worried for the newcomer's wellbeing.
"Excuse me! Are you alright?" Xari says as she approached the strange, glassy looking dragon, tilting her head in concern and interest.

Keiran's powerful wings propelled him over the land they called Dragonhome and towards the distant border of the Starfall Isles. Keiran's journey had begun months ago when he emerged from the thick, dark trees of the Tangled Wood with his partner, Yarrow, a few steps behind. When he turned around, to his shock, Yarrow no longer took the form of a man but a dragon. They had only been in Sornieth but a minute but the power of the land had transformed his companion into something colorful and strange.
Regardless of the strange happenings of that day, being transported to a new world and, for Yarrow, adapting to a new form, they had stuck together until the Sunbeam Ruins where Keiran's dark scales stuck out like a sore thumb. Keiran hated being apart from Yarrow, but after a short while being settled into a Light clan, Keiran's wings itched. The friendly skies, the strange inhabitants of this land, Keiran needed to learn them through and through.
So, Keiran and Yarrow agreed to be long-distance, letters passed back and forth between them, updating Yarrow on his location and Yarrow updating him on the comings and goings of the clan he inhabited. It had turned out better than he thought it would.
Back in the present moment, the storm encroaching on the distant skies would not do his wings any favors. He looked around for a place to roost and was glad to find a small group of dragons gathered below.
He swooped down and landed on a nearby boulder, only stumbling a bit before regaining his balance. When he did, his stomach suddenly rumbled something fierce. He watched the dragons from afar, and when he decided that they were safe, he glided out and into the clearing.
"Good day, ma'am", he addressed the large orange dragon with a parrot on her shoulder, "I'm in need of food and somewhere to shelter during the storm."
He grabbed his lute from where it rested at his side, holding it up in front of him. "I could play for you in return if you would like."
