[/quote] Looking up from his paperwork, Peruzzi's expression remained remarkably unreadable. He seemed to think for a moment before answering. "In truth I never knew what I was to expect of my future. Growing up in a hatchery is quite different from other upbringings, you're raised and taught certain standards of living in order to prepare yourself for whatever clan may bring you in. I was taught a broad range of things, from the ways of politics, history, and documentation, but I took quite a liking to arranging my own wardrobe. On days that I had time to myself, I rather enjoyed dedicating it to helping others improve their manner of dress. I quite fancied the idea of joining a less refined clan, perhaps from plague, nature, or shadow, and introducing them to a higher form of fashion!" The skydancer chuckled to himself. "But I could not be happier with where I ended up! I even got to share my eye for fashion with the nobility here, truly the kingdom would not be quite so beautiful if it wasn't for me! My liege, King Dunbai is grateful for my servitude, and I in turn am ever grateful for the privilege I have been granted. Of course there is the typical matters of court and paperwork, all of which is just as easy for one of my upbringing. Indeed this kingdom has become quite a home to me. It may have its flaws just as any other clan, but the dragons I have come to know, and relationships I have forged are irreplacable to me. I am quite proud of my position within the kingdom, and my service to the esteemed royal family. I hardly know what it would be like without me!

To answer your question, originally I taught myself the art of the blade. As a child, I was left alone much of the time. Bored, I turned to books of swordplay and stories of heroes to find entertainment. This is where I first fell in love with the sport. As I grew older, I was fortunate enough to find many others to practice with, and many monsters to fight. However, several years ago, I suffered an accident during one of these battles that nearly took my life and left me permanently injured. After that, I suppose I realized that the fame and recognition of being an adventurer worth dying for, and so I turned to teaching people about my other passion: history.”

(Multi-Gaze Content warning! Just in case.)

Covered in spines, their face either a skull or a mask crafted from one (which might explain the antlers), the approaching creature seems to be a Mirror dragon, more or less. One lean and ragged enough that it is easy to miss the wiry strength beneath scraps of leather, dulled metal, and tattered dull-brown feathers covering various bits of dragon.

Covering, that is, parts which are not already occupied by spines, or claws, or by the long row of large, pale green eyes down each side of their form.

The Mirror moves in a wary skulk, every eye scanning their surroundings except for the more usual two pairs located on their head. Those eyes are fixed on the curiosity they have found. Their voice, when they speak, is a low, disused rasp, the flow of words erratic as though this is not a much-used skill, and the way they dart in to scrabble briefly at the plaque naming the statue suggests a greater interest in the material than the lettering upon it.

The hasty retreat to safe(?) distance after that moment of boldness is made in a single sidelong leap, as though the Mirror wants as many eyes as possible trained on the statue.
