Situated on the edge of a dark sea and surrounded by an endless suburban wasteland, Catatonia is a city ill-suited to those looking for happy endings. A place riddled with gang violence and corruption —not to mention threats of a more… supernatural nature—, where magic is as mundane as the garbage lining the streets, it’s no surprise most everyone here is miserable. And all that’s without even mentioning the shadows that have begun to grow in the places nobody looks. Catatonia is tearing at the seams, and only time can tell what will be the thing to inevitable destroy it.

RULES TO FOLLOW IF YOU DON’T
WANNA END UP DEAD IN A DITCH:

i. beware the living dead

Vampirism is a curse that has plagued Catatonia since time immemorial. These cursed beings thrive in the shadows, taking the lives of mortals in order to satiate their thirst for blood. While most vampires you will encounter are fledglings, unlikely to survive their first year of undeath, every once in a while you might just come face-to-face with one who was born to the darkness centuries ago. If that happens, get the hells away.

ii. don’t trust the fey

Mysterious creatures who once ruled the wilderness where Catatonia now lies. Since having their home destroyed they've become hungry for flesh. Capable of twisting minds and hearts, it’s impossible to know reality from illusion when the Fey are around. Many have taken up up jobs with the various criminal organizations around the city, but others simply make it their goal to eradicate as many mortals as possible.

iii. make no deals with devils

I’m sure you’ve heard tales of the Hells and the Abyss that lie beneath our earth. I’m sure, then, you’ve also heard about the infernal beings who make their homes there. Well, in recent years, due to political turmoil, many demons and devils have left their realms, making Catatonia their new home. It should go without saying, but these creatures are dangerous, their promises, lies. Cover your ears when they whisper to you.

iV. stay far from the ink sea

The dark sea that surrounds Catatonia is as deadly as it is deep. It's rumored that it's filled to the brim with primordial creatures that get stranger the further you dive into its twilit waters, but there’s really no way to know for certain. All those who dare to venture past the surface are never seen again.

V. worship not the St. Jimmy

The so-called Prince of Crime offers nothing but lies. Jimmy might rule the underbelly, the den of thieves and murderers, but will never be able to shake the heavens as he so claims. To follow him is a death sentence, a fatal mistake. His world is drowning.
