He isn’t particularly intelligent or impressive - in fact, by Coatl standards, he's a bit dull. However, he doesn't let that bother him at all. Born on the Windswept Plateau, his first home was the Ashfall Waste, a place where he was mocked and dismissed for his dull plumage. Stogwen, however, [i]was oblivious[/i]. He doesn't really care what others think of him, for he's happy with the life he has and [i]if others don't like it, that's not his problem[/i]. He found a home that didn't care, found out he’s good at blacksmithing, and that he very much enjoys the finer things in life. After the odd tryst or two, he ended up with a couple of children who were sent away to live in other lairs. That should have been that. Though the two of them went to live in different clans, they both decided to take mates and become parents, to show that their children would be as healthy and strong as they were. Their children then had children, and though now many of these descendants are bright and colourful, many honour the dark colours of their progenitor and work hard to dismiss the Coatl prejudice that those with naturally dull or pale plumage are to be treated with disdain. To his surprise, his family had become quite [i]large[/i], and were beginning to populate many different parts of Sornieth. He also found out that his father had now moved from to the Southern Icefield, and that he had more half-siblings born of another element. Out of curiosity, Audacity began to map his family tree, and then discovered, to his initial horror, that [b]his father had somehow stumbled across one of his [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/14515039]own descendants[/url] and taken them to mate.[/b] Audacity attempted to reach out to his father, but on his journey he discovered that Stogwen had moved on to the Starfall Isles and had taken a new mate. [i]Perhaps his father had realised[/i], Audacity decided, and returned home. He was wrong. [i][b]Stogwen had no idea[/b].[/i][/columns] [size=2]However, it wasn't long until Audacity noticed this had happened more than once, not with Stogwen, but with other descendents of the line. He realised that many of his father's lineage had spread so far and wide across Sornieth that many of them did not know who they were or how they were related to each other. He in fact discovered that his own son, [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/43189417]Sunfish[/url], had taken a [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/52385504]relative[/url] to mate. By now though, the family tree was humongous, and Audacity found that he was no longer able to keep track. [columns]Luckily, Audacity's granddaughter, and thus Stogwen's Great-Granddaughter, has taken an avid interest in her lineage and has begun to assist Audacity in logging the adventures and escapades of the Stogwen line, and with the help of some more technically minded Stogwens in the clan (such as [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/45299895]Cosmos[/url] and [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/24280250]Soaproot[/url]), she has managed to build a grand database to log and record this information, along with some basic software to assist in tracing her relatives whereabouts. At first, Stogwen had no idea who Audacity was, but at some point he has begun to realise he has other relatives within the clan - however, the ones he's noticed are all Audacity's progeny. [i]What a happy coincidence[/i], Stogwen told his son, [i]it's nice to see you have had lots of children[/i].[/size] But, with how prevailant and infamous the line has become,[b] how long until Stogwen uncovers the fantastic, terrible truth?[/b] --------------------- [b][size=6]BACKGROUND { INFOMATION }[/size][/b] Project Stogwen is a breeding line project descending from Stogwen the Coatl Blacksmith! He has no idea that his family tree has inadvertently gotten this big (to the point we've definitely lost track of it over the 8 years), so while he lives on in blissful ignorance, the aim of this project is to make his family tree as big and convoluted as possible [s]until he inadvertently rules the world[/s] and [b]perhaps every Coatl in Sornieth is somehow related to this big happy family....[/b] [b]The Stogwen Project was THE FIRST community breeding project that was started on Flight Rising[/b]. As since the start of the project, there are no limitations except that for a [b]both parents of a dragon had to be Coatls[/b], with one (or both) of them a descendant of Stogwen. Dragons that can trace their linage back to these Stogwen-descedants may feel the urge to practice this craft as well - however, the urge to be a blacksmith, following in the footsteps of Stogwen, does not necessarily mean a natural talent. The enthusiasm is certainly there, but sometimes the success and skills are lacking. Their mates tend to wear goggles around their projects. @Sonne I am always happy to poke my nose into a lineage project. I do have one Stogwen derg [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/87952902][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/879530/87952902_350.png[/img][/url] Haris just strikes me as the kind of guy who can choose a wine and has lots of investments and such. No idea why. Anyway, I was totally excited to hear this plan (and I admit this is despite not being crazy about coatl's) and have already taken steps to aquire a beloved for him.

Sure I'll hang on the ping list. I don't remember which of my coatls is or was a Stogwen though... I may need to get a new one.

@Zaratyst you were selling some Stogwens in the post I picked you out from, and doing some investigating it looks like their parent has been exalted since then so maybe you don't have any Stogs lol (besides your new acquisition) whoops. I guess I assumed everyone selling Stogs might want to be involved in the revived project haha.

@Sonne you over-estimated my attention span, that's all! I have been here 9 years, I can't even begin to guess how many projects I've been in! But I'm pleased to participate.

Added Cosmos as a stud (finally decided if I'm gonna keep him as he's the only Stogwen I have with lightning eyes and I was in lightning flight for a while...)

Cosmos and Hyacinth both currently have 26 days left on cool down, but Sunfish and Cislunar are sat on a nest right now that hatches tomorrow!

Not sure if I should put pairs in this thread as well as in the sales thread, but I do have 2 pairs of dragons I intend to nest regularly for Stogwen babies (Audacity w/ his mate Vespa for gen III, Sunfish and Cislunar for TRIPLE STOGS).
