The Generation 30 Stogwens hatched today! The three Gen 29 siblings gave me nests of two, three, and four, respectively. Random, but I decided to re-gene two of my long time Stogs today: She used to be Ripple/Paint, so I decided to see in my hoard if I had some genes laying around that I could use on her. He used to be Swirl/Marbled/Contour and near identical to his father. I have so many Stogs with those genes, and I feel like all my breedings of those Stogs oversaturated the genes, so I felt like it was time to switch things up a bit. Also as a sidenote, I've sent off most of my unsold Stogs in trade threads. I'll update in the sales thread later, which ones are still available or not. They were slow to leave my lair and I was hoping trading them might spread the project (and give me some lair space, ngl)

@Zikul First of all, this is a late response, but your re-gening inspired me to see if we could get some more Harlequin Stogwens - I'm looking forward to see if PrideRising has any luck in passing on his genes. @pinglist-367 Now here's where I had an adventure.... I'm literally writing this out because I'm dramatic and also would like you all to know I need to learn to control my impulses better. I noticed Cosmos was ready to breed, and one of the fodder dragons I'd been sent ass part of me using my big ol' hib den to store fodder for the next nature push was a Coatl girl with Harlequin. I figured the stars had aligned in my favour so I popped her on a nest with Cosmos. Two eggs. Hmm. Ok. Thing is though, I was supposed to use that nest for something else. Maaaaybe, just maybe I could boon the nest and we'd all be good. So I did. Of course that meant Cosmos decided his kids were both going to have Starmap. I should have known, since no matter who I pair him with, Cosmos seems to delight in producing the opposite of what I want. Grumpy, I checked my lair and found another gem-gene Stogwen ready to breed. Cardamom - she's got wasp. I go select a not super expensive RTB harlequin man from the auction house, pop them on a nest. Naturally, they wegg (give me one egg) me. Now it's early morning and my week has not been going to plan. I look at my gems. I end up back on the gem marketplace buying another boon. Hatch the nest. Hatchling's got wasp. I guess I'm locked in at this point. I've got two RTB Coatls left with a gem gene primary. I look at Nutmeg - Cardamom's sister. Now they're both Cosmos' grandkids, and I've noticed this side of the family line is just into letting me down this morning. That, and Nutmeg has only ever had nests with Bootes. I guess I'm not going to make her do adultery because I don't trust her to give me the kid I want. The only other gem-gene primary Stogwen I've got is sat in my fodder section of my Stogwen hibernal den tab waiting to get exalted for Greenskeepers. I get her out, grab another mate. On the nest they go. Another two egg nest. Then I realise my mistake. This Stogwen is also closely related to Cosmos. I'm gonna boon the nest. I figure this project is likely doomed, I don't wanna wait for this and I'm gonna just....get rid of the nest, pretend none of this happened and just get back on schedule and nest the pair that was supposed to nest. Out pop two kiddos with Harlequin: Well ok then. Thanks. Thing is though, now I've got no gems. Though looking at it, three boons is still cheaper than buying Harlequin as a gene. Moral of the story folks, I'm an idiot and I spent all my money on this stinky baby: At least she's cute. After I spent my treasure changing her secondary and tertiary genes. But yeah, don't spend all your money trying to get something nice because you think it'll fix your big sad energy early in the morning because your dragons won't cooperate. Cosmos has been moved to time-out in the hibernal den because his babies are ugly.

@The Stogwen Project (Updates Pinglist)
Now here's where I had an adventure....

I'm literally writing this out because I'm dramatic and also would like you all to know I need to learn to control my impulses better.

I noticed Cosmos was ready to breed, and one of the fodder dragons I'd been sent *** part of me using my big ol' hib den to store fodder for the next nature push was a Coatl girl with Harlequin.

Out pop two kiddos with Harlequin:

@Sonne I struggle with the appearance of my Stogwens, mostly because I feel that adult coatls are bar none, the ugliest dragons on the site. Which is odd (or maybe not) because I also feel that the hatchlings are the most adorable. I don't do "permababies" but when I contemplate it, it's always a coatl. I have to say I've never used Weaver for anyone but an Aberration or an Auraboa, and I am surprised at how well it works here. My goal with my Stogwens is to eventually get a bunch of ones that are in the yellow (maybe green and blue) range. Not a whole lot of luck yet, but as they are one of the slowest to breed and recover, I'm figuring patience is important here (not that I have any, but it would be useful if I did). I do have one Stogwen that I consider to be downright adorable, but it's 50% her story and 50% the use of Bishoujo Observation eyes (which totally work on her). @DraconisVorst I'm glad you are entertained! It's def part of the reason why I wrote it,I enjoy being dramatic sometimes haha! And glad to know I'm not alone.

@Axqu thank you for the warning poster. I have placed in in his bio so all my other dragons stay away from him and don't catch the stinky

@Newtinmpls Well we are opposites in that fact as Coatls are my favourite moderns for sure, haha. The babies are cute, but probably far from my first choice to permababy. I've never used weaver on a dragon at all. I accidentally clicked it when I was scrying and just went "oh.". So I brewed it! I'm quite happy I had that little accident. And yes, you have to be patient with Coatls - probably why I got so bothered when I didn't get Harlequin the first time around. Also why my boy Hyacinth annoys me because h clones himself every month instead of giving me what I want haha.

That was a delightful trip haha. Sorry you end up with no gems left but at least you've got a Tarnish! One of the special colours with nice complementary coloring.

I do love coalts tho, I am obsessed with them. (And imperials) Happy to see more harle/jester in the line! Those genes are such a pain, all my pairs with other gem gene dragons just refuses to give me both harle/jester. And they have such a long cool downs too. :'3
