Soaproot's lineage has a unique curse on it: his father's brood will either be destined for greatness or doomed to spiral into madness. Fortunately, Soaproot's coin landed on the right side, and he swiftly climbed the ranks to fame and success. He has no idea how he ended up there, though.

Soaproot is not particularly clever or powerful. He's not even that ambitious. But fate continues to push him forward - through accident, coincidence or pure strokes of luck, Soaproot has gathered acclaim as whatever those around him think he is that day. He even apparently has a small tribe of Marin worshiping him.

Not that he's complaining, of course. The less work he has to do, the better.

This is why he likes his current job at Mossgarde. He's naturally very talented at fixing things, especially anything involving electronics, but with Cosmos and Cathode so eager to get their claws on anything run by any power source in an effort to improve or maximise its efficiency, Soaproot doesn't really have that much to do. Occasionally something will need re-wiring or a part replacing, but he can probably persuade one of the other two to do it.
