It gave a bright flash of light, causing every nocturne at the party to turn and shield their eyes. When they turned back to look at it, the egg was just shattered shards surrounding a guardian hatchling. Mimic had been standing right behind the light egg as well and hissed in displeasure at the flash, then began attacking the child with confetti. It cheeped in surprise and ducked behind a neighboring egg to avoid the colorful onslaught.
