Edit: holy crap this menu got big, I might have to shrink down a lot of the icons into their widget forms :’)
Hi all!! This past year I’ve been utterly addicted to expanding my clan lore, and giving dragons jobs and stories, and I was like huh. We’re in the Shifting Expanse, biiiig ol’ dry desert. Dragons probably be thirsty. Why not get a Water dragon to provide various drinks for them?? And so, Costello was adopted!
Here he is, in all of his watery glory:
Now for the real reason I’m here.
I need y’all’s help with some drink ideas. We have teas, yes, and a couple of plant food items that can be made into teas, but what would happen if we made drinks with other plants? Or boiled some bugs and served it with ice? Fermented seafood beverage??
There’s quite a lot of possibilities here, much more than I can take on alone, so! I’d like sometest subjects volunteers to help Costello figure out what would and wouldn’t make a good drink, and why (i.e. “daffodil tea is tasty and tastes like yellow”, or “leaf sheep seemed like a good idea but oops it’s extremely toxic too bad boiling it didn’t nullify the venom”)
Even names for your drinks or instructions on how to make them are welcomed!!
Costello has a list in his bio (shown here) where he makes notes on every single attempted brew. If any ideas are submitted to him, he’ll jot it down and add it to his menu!
(Or his absolutely-never-serve-this list, or serve-this-out-of-spite list, depending on the drink)
Have fun, be creative! Any and all submissions welcome!! Heck, even if we get different reports for the same item, Costello will write it down. Mixology can be just as varying as your run-of-the-mill alchemy, after all!

Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster
- Take the juice from one bottle of Ol' Bottlesnake Spirit
- Pour into it one measure of water from the Sea of a Thousand Currents — Oh, that Thousand Currents seawater! Oh, those Thousand Currents fish!
- Allow three cubes of Arcane Mega-gin to melt into the mixture (it must be properly iced or the benzene is lost)
- Allow four litres of Plague marsh gas to bubble through it, in memory of all those unfortunate exalts who have been concussed by Wartoads in the Mire
- Over the back of a Fluted Bat Spoon float a measure of Dusk Jadevine extract, redolent of all the heady odours of the dark Wispwillow Grove, subtle, sweet and mystic
- Drop in the tooth of a Flamerest Fiendcat. Watch it dissolve, spreading the fires of the Volcanic Vents deep into the heart of the drink
- Sprinkle Sacridite
- Add an olive
- And done! Drink... but... very carefully...

- Mix in at least one teaspoon of honey (Golden or Blue, for your preference)

Venom’s Bounty
a dangerous drink for daring dragons
a dangerous drink for daring dragons
- due to the massive amount of venom in this drink, it is not advised to consume it unless it has a base consisting of lots and lots of herbal plantain. what I do, I just grab 15-20 leaves and grind them to a pulp. dissolves easily in the venom, and neutralizes it enough to be considered safe to drink.
- next is the fun part. using a glass bowl to hold it all, start extracting venom from the most dangerous venomous animals you can get a hold of.
- remove venom sacs from a stinglash, a firebelly scorpion, a flameleg millipede, and an acid widow and drain them into the bowl. if the sacs are small enough, you can just pop them and toss them in with the drink.
- milk a live coral snake or emerald striker on the edge of the bowl. this is done by squeezing open the mouth by pinching the back of the jaw, hooking the fangs over the edge of the bowl, and gently massaging the roof of the snake’s mouth with the edge of the bowl.
if you’re not planning to eat the snake once it’s been milked, it is advised to feed it moor thistle extract to reduce possible swelling from damage done to the mouth. - snap off the spines of a citrus lionfish and drain their venom into the bowl. the rest of the fish can then be eaten.
- wearing protective gloves is recommended but optional for these critters. wring out a blue ring octopus, sea slugs, and spicy lettuces over the bowl.
- after the venom has been collected, toss in a few electric stingers and venomous pillbugs, along with your herbal plantain paste. the more toxins there are in the bowl, the more herbs you should add. mash the jellies, pillbugs, and herb paste into the venom to desired consistency. (i tend to like mine a little chunky, personally)
- finally, and this is optional, you can pour your toxic concoction into a glass of water, Fan Scorpion venom, or an alcohol of your choice. mix well.
- for safety reasons, it is recommended to drop in a toxindiver before consumption. the longer it stays alive, the less dangerous the drink.
- garnish with dried senecio haworthii if desired. enjoy!

Buffalo Dodo Wings
delicious fried dodo wings in a spicy, buttery sauce. often served with sliced Jungle Pith sticks.
Boiled Edamame
who doesn’t enjoy boiled edamame with a tiny bit of salt?
Cucumber Juice
a refreshing, pale green drink that is best enjoyed on hot summer days. apple or dragon fruit juice can be added to give the drink a hint of sweetness.
Sweet Dreams Tea
this tea is a nostalgic drink for many Arcane dragons. often given to hatchlings after they have a nightmare.

Plaguebringer's Brew
boiled leeches, bonebark mold stew, vampiric featherfleas and a dash of redclaw scorpion venom creates a staple in Plague dragon cuisine. after all, they're known for their soup!
Croaking Coffee
the nectar of a blood acorn, ground coffee beans, a small amount of dreamwaker poison and ground up hainu's eye can mix to make a coffee that Shadow dragons adore and many Lightning dragons require to survive.
