Second Anniversary Hatch
Has Shadow Walking powers, allowing them to become incorporeal/invisible The night after Caliginous and Luciferin's clutch hatched, the two awoke to find one of their daughters, Acheilognathus, missing. Frantic, they tore up their house looking for their daughter. They searched the city of Waterdeep desperately throughout that night, returning home defeated in the morning. However, when they peered into their nest, Acheilognathus had returned and was peacefully asleep right where she'd been the night before. Though puzzled, Caliginous and Luciferin were immensely relieved to see their daughter back unharmed, until the same thing happened again the next night and the night after that. For two weeks, every night their daughter vanished. On the 15th day of this, however, the mystery would finally be solved. As Caliginous searched the city, Luciferin stayed behind in their home, both searching until the sun was just beginning to peak up from the horizon. Luciferin was about to leave when a flicker of movement caught her eye. As the rays of sunlight stretched over the nest containing their dragonets, a patch shimmered and rippled under the warm glow as the outline of Acheilognathus began to appear. Luciferin watched in awe as her daughter seemed to materialize from the shadows themself. The next night, Luciferin and Caliginous stayed awake to watch the sunset. As the golden rays retreated from the nest, the two watched as Acheilognathus seemed to vanish with them. Though unnerving, the two knew their daughter was safe and coiled around the nest, falling into a peaceful sleep for the first time in two weeks.

Acheilognathus's Shadow Walking shifts with the sun's position. While incapable of Shadow Walking in the daytime, Acheilognathus automatically turns incorporeal at night and re-emerges when the sunlight touches their scales. She uses this ability to sneak out with her brother Aymonieri at night to explore the city of Waterdeep. |
