The Fuchsia-colored ‘dragon’ woke up once again. Alone and knowing that the others were gone. Their parents were not sure what to expect when they laid four eggs together, but with Pilgrim as the only survivor as the clutch, all eyes were on them. ”Do you think the Avariels will accept me?” They ask one fateful day. Their father raised an eyebrow. ”I mean, you have a gift, no matter how strange it is.” That was enough for part-extraterrestrial imperial. He bore a unique gift that few had possessed. Sludge filled with the power of the wind. They have already been given their name, but soon, they will find their place.

There are Avariels born with the echoes of the Elemental Plane of Air flowing through their veins. Pilgrim was one such individual. Born in Oden to Eirlys, an alien entity in the form of a dragon, and Branch, an Avariel himself with less-than-ordinary heritage. They were the only one of their clutch to have fully formed, their Tundra siblings simple globs of goo, unknown whether they would form later or stay that way. They did not live in Waterdeep, but nevertheless held an adventurous spirit. Pilgrim held an interest in artifacts, wishing to uncover their past lineage. They spent the opportunity learning everything that they could.

Pilgrim was a bit odd, but they never really minded. They preferred to research what was in the past and rarely thought about the present. This brought them closer to Waterdeep than their father had ever come. They embraced the power of the wind and the energy that lifted their feathery wings. It was almost addicting. As they dove deeper, they would find something that was hidden from both Oden and Waterdeep. The touch of the entities of fear. They could not commune with them, but their curiosity grew. They knew someone who had the power.

Ravenfeather, the dragoness who helped save them. Coming in contact with her, the two of them became close. Ravenfeather would give him all of the kindness he needed, and Pilgrim would protect her from anyone who insulted her. They were a dynamic duo, and Pilgrim had inherited Branch’s ferocity. They’re not quite as ambitious, however. They’re brave and powerful, but they’re also rather naive and clumsy. The others have to keep watch of them, including their own familiar, Thalia. Thankfully, they’re taking their teachings in stride!

Avariels are children of the Elemental Plane of Air, guided by goddesses of the Sun and Moon. They are powerful mages and warriors known for their glass weaponry and wind-singing, and most importantly, the runic symbols that mark each of their clan. Helmed by Bright and Torrin, remarkable mages each in their own right and chosen by the gods, they've provided a safe haven for their family, and over time, have helped their line spread across Sornieth.

This family of dragons descends from Faith and Omen, an angel and a fallen angel who were cast out onto Sornieth and cursed to live as dragons for their crime of becoming romantically involved. This family tends to have few offspring-- the more greyscale they are, the less the curse seems to affect them!
