Biography
A long, long time ago...
A young dragon, wishing to bring happiness into the world, made a pact with a demon. The demon would grant them a very powerful treasure: the Witch's Heart.
You may be asking yourself: what is the Witch's Heart?
A Witch's Heart is a blood-red gemstone, said to be able to grant any single wish without fail, and it is searched for and coveted by many.
However, demons are sneaky, fickle beings, and rarely state the truth of the matter.
A Witch's Heart isn't just any old magical artifact; it is grown inside the heart of someone who made a pact with a demon. You can only make a wish upon it if you are in physical contact with it, so if anyone other than the carrier of a Witch's Heart wants to use it, they would first have to kill that person. If the person who carries the Witch's Heart inside their heart makes a wish upon it, the strain of it would kill them on the spot.
Not to mention... the story that the Witch's Heart can grant any wish is a lie. Sure, it can grant wishes... as long as they negativly impact the world around them. Since the Witch's Heart is born out of a demonic pact, demons are the ones granting your wish... and what demon in their right mind would ever grant a positive wish?
A Witch's Heart doesn't even go away when the person making the pact dies; instead, every singly one of their descendants will carry a Witch's Heart of their own. Some might know, some might not, but the truth of the matter is that once it becomes known that they carry one, they will become hunted.
After all... if you have a wish, a very, very important wish...
A wish you'd be willing to kill for...
Wouldn't you?
From a young age, Sybil was separated from her family, both of her parents disappearing without a trace. All she knew was that one day, her mother came into her room, looking frantic, before telling Sybil; "Hide in your closet- and don't come out until I come back, okay sweetie?"
So, Sybil did just that, and hid.
Her mother, however, would never return.
Hungry and scared, Sybil emerged what must have been at least a day later. Neither of her parents were home, and when asking the neighbours, none of them would even speak of them.
Pretending they didn't know her parents in the first place.
Sybil scavenged for days on end, looking for food and shelter, begging for the scraps of the people passing by. It was a tough existence all of a sudden, and she didn't understand why.
She was eventually taken in by a young couple who lived just outside her hometown, the two dragons taking pity on her and raising her as her own.
it would only be much, much later that Sybil would learn about the Witch's Heart, and what happened to her parents as a result from it.
Her parents... were killed because someone wanted a wish.
A wish they were willing to kill for.
From then on, Sybil swore to never let such a tragedy happen ever again. She bid farewell to her adoptive parents, and took to training, travelling, becoming strong and powerful and knowledgable about the world.
These travels would eventually introduce her to Makai, a tired immortal. His wish is to finally be able to die in peace, and therefor was looking for a Witch's Heart. However, by the time he found out Sybil was a bearer of one, he'd grown close to her, and couldn't bring himself to kill her over a selfish wish like that. Instead he decided he would be her companion, and aid her until she died of natural causes.
