"All of my sins darken my wings. It is too easy to fall apart to the whispers. They eyes of the cosmos scar each feather for curiosity."

BACKSTORY His claws dug into the ground, as he stood before the large door, his tale swishing against the ground. Beyond the great door his father used, he could feel the heat of their home. There was no sign bidding him to exit as he pushed open the door. “Every dragon does this.” His voice deafened by the roar of magma. He had bid his mother and father goodbye earlier; he wanted to see Waterdeep and the rest of Sornieth, with his belongings slung loosely against his shoulder. Tucking his wings close he dived off the cliff basking in the heat before spreading his wings letting the steam push him into the air currents. As he rose he turned looking back over his home, one day he would return, as a different dragon, one that was stronger and would earn the pride of his parents. His journey or at least the plan of it. Started at Waterdeep, the home of Avariels. He had heard the stories of how his mothers ancestors hailed from Waterdeep, and also could outfly most dragons. It wouldn’t be a hard journey. Rather it had been his thought, just as skipping his morning meal to ease his nerves had been a thought. He had barely crossed into the growing darkness of the Tangled wood before hunger drove him to land. Moving into the darkness, his eyes glowed, the hair along his spine starting to stand on edge. Something felt off, he felt like someone was watching him. “Who's there! Come out NOW!” He roared, only for the dark glade to be filled with silence and glowing mushrooms. Suddenly little motes of ghastly fire began to surround him as haunting laughter sounded.
Little one…So far from home… How is it one so young has found their way to Thistle Pretense?
Slowly through the shadows a dark colored Imperial strode forth, ink black feathers trailed behind them. Opening his mouth he tried to call forth a fire blast.
Dear. Didn't your mother teach you some manners.
They gently flicked their tail over his mouth to scold him.
Come you are in quite a state, and my daughter's mate will wish to meet you. He may even help you on find your footing.
They guided him further into the darkness, a small Aberration hatchling emerging to hang on their wings. "Ernmas, who'd you find? What's his name!"At that the elder imperial looked at him.
What do you call yourself Little one. Think carefully now, one chance to find a name that suits.
"Ophanim, that is my name."
