It is customary for young Avariels to consult with diviners near the time of their birth, or before important turning points in their lives. The old practice is slowly taking root in Sornieth. The diviner rattles their satchel, shuffling the runes within before spilling them across the table. They read only those that are face up.

Sephiran was born under the banner of the Phoenix Goddess, Suzaku. Those born in such circumstances are known for their indomitable wills above all else. The largest rune revealed is the Spirit Rune. This implies Sephiran has inherited their penchant for the healing arts. Transferring life through bending light and shared warmth is a supremely precise art that requires the right mindset and drive. It is difficult enough on its own, but usually only those blessed by Suzaku can unlock its full potential – rebirth. The necromantic arts aren’t frowned upon in Avariel circles, as long as they are done correctly. It’s always important that the right spirit comes back, and Sephiran has the potential to wield that impressive power.

In the realm of happiness, Sephiran will have the most consistency. Happiness refers to Sephiran’s opportunities and means of finding satisfaction and positive feelings beyond that, given the hand he is dealt. This can mean he will find simple contentment for the rest of his days, or be eternally tormented by grief he cannot escape. What’s good will remain, and what’s cursed will persist. Fate will push hardest against attempts to change this aspect of his life.

In contrast, the most volatile aspect in his life will be his health. Health refers to his physical, mental and all-around well-being. He is advised to hold tightly to the best parts of this aspect, because it is only a matter of time before they disperse.

To complete the reading, one close to Sephiran selects the final rune. Zephia, his mother, finds the rune for spirituality, bestowing the most sincere blessing in the eye of fate.
