All she remembered was an argument gone too far, and then the sensation of falling and the feeling of her wings burning. And her name, Tyl. She blacked out before she hit the ground, listening to the angry calls of the others who were with her. Were any of them on her side, or had they all planned to be against her? Who were they yelling at? Her, or the one who cast her down? Either way, she could not dwell on it long.
Waking up, Tyl found herself laying in an open field. Slowly getting up, she found her wings still burned, the flames yet to go out. But it didn't hurt. Now fallen, cast aside by her own kind, Tyl trudged along the ground of the mortal realm. She'll get her revenge on the others sooner or later. For now, though, shelter was her top priority. Tyl stayed mostly in caves at first, sticking around a large kingdom but drifting away when she saw one of them there. They weren't one of the ones that had been with her when she fell, but she was wary nonetheless. She didn't stray far, though, as she found herself at a sort of extension to the kingdom. Here, she didn't find any of her kind, and something about the place seemed almost welcoming to her. She didn't enter right away. She wasn't going to just waltz into a place that might not even accept her. So she found a nearby cave to stay in. Tyl hadn't thought the cave was inhabited. She walked through it, looking cautiously through the tunnels. It wasn't even that big. Well... Compared to her, it wasn't that big. It quickly came to a point where she couldn't continue and she wasn't certain whether a Fae could continue either. So she set up camp. She didn't have much, nor did she really need much. She didn't need to eat, she didn't need water, she barely needed to sleep. Heck, she didn't even need a fire since she could use the flames that still had yet to leave her body as a way to warm food she decided to eat just to seem normal. Not that an Imperial with multiple wings and a cloak that covered her face looked "normal", but she didn't exactly care about that. So to say that one day, when she had went out to gather some berries and came back to another Imperial in the cave she called "home", she was surprised, would be an understatement. Tyl was almost angry until she remembered she was technically the one who was trespassing, not this dragon. She was also more than a little surprised about how much bigger than her he was. He may as well have towered over her. His wings easily dwarfed her own. She wasn't scared, though. No matter what this Imperial could do to her, it wouldn't matter. She was immortal, and any damage done would heal in a matter of days, if not hours, no matter how severe. She's regrown limbs before, and she'll do it again. Although, the other did seem a little more than confused. His head tilted down at Tyl, looking at her like a dog would at something it found interesting. It was like he was wondering why she hadn't run away. Or maybe he was wondering how she could see through her cloak covering her eyes. She could see through it due to some sort of divine magic, but he didn't need to know that. They stared at each other for a moment, before he suddenly spoke. "Who are you?" He asked, voice a deep, yet quiet rumble, almost like the forewarning shake of a volcano about to blow. "Why are you here? And why aren't you running away?" The questions came quite quickly, and he seemed progressively more annoyed with each one. Tyl was almost ready to smack him, but held back. Again, this wasn't her land. "My name is Tyl," she said after a moment of thinking whether she should lie or not, ultimately deciding the truth may be of more help. "Fallen angel, seeking shelter in a cave." She shrugged a little, nonchalant about the whole ordeal. She was used to living in caves by this point. "Why should I be running?" "Because of my curse? Can you not feel it or something? Everybody else is aware of it!" The Imperial growled. He seemed ready to attack at a moment's notice. "I could care less about this curse of yours. You can't kill me, and whatever you do to me won't matter," Tyl hissed right back. "Whatever..." The Imperial turned back towards the entrance of the cave, before looking back at her for a moment. "Bluescreen said to tell you that you're welcome to come to the palace if you wish. Don't know what makes you so special to be let in, but I don't have much authority with the decision making." He continued to the mouth of the cave, pausing in the entrance. "My name's Banish, by the way," he didn't look back at her when he spoke, and flew off seconds later. Tyl stared after him, before giving a heavy sigh. She'd think about going to the palace. For now, though, she'll stay out here and observe. |
