This is the tale of the Barghest, Unnamed.

Things were calmer this time around, with Hochmael's pacing notably absent. He rested beside Ara, watching over the twin eggs nestled in the pile of blankets and pillows. The snow was still falling heavily outside, frosting their windows and chilling their breath. They had a fire in the small fireplace, sure, but the odd Ophanim-like hound seemed to bring his own chill with him wherever he went. Ara had her candles lit, a deck of cards by her side. She carded through them, pausing every now and then when she heard a faint creak. The pups would hatch soon, surely.

It didn't take long. There had been some false alarms, but it was hard to write off an entire snout poking through the dark smooth shell. Ara glanced over to the window, pausing when her other consort simply nodded to her. He couldn't see through the clouds above, but in the end it didn't matter. The three were Barghests, through and through. They knew when the moon was full. They knew when their curse would spread to their pups. These two were right on time.

Ara drew the card for the first pup as she pushed aside her shell, almost falling right out of their makeshift nest. She couldn't help but chuckle at her little one, smiling when she saw the Chariot. "A fitting card for one of us, little pup. You really will fight this all your life... but perhaps my blood will aid you."

Hochmael drew the card for the second pup, who hardly made it out of his own shell before whining at the chill of his father. There was a pause at the sight of the Ace of Wands, a fiery card for a soft-spoken pup. Ara peered at the little one, humming to herself. "Ah, another good sign. A fiery passion will drive this little dreamer. Perhaps his fire will keep him warm on these colder nights, even in his dreams."

The three decided to keep the pups, willing to train them in the ways of the Witchborne. The eldest chose to stay behind, hoping her duality could be tamed with her family. Her brother, however, chose to leave when the time came, feeling as though he could do so much more outside the boundaries of the place he'd called home. And so he left, card tucked away, with the curse and blessing of his blood tucked away in the back of his mind as he sought someplace where he could truly flourish...

For better or for worse.

Witchborne dragons hatched under the Wolf moon have very strong connections to their ancestors, making them very powerful seers, diviners and oracles. They have the advantage of uncommon knowing and uncanny intuition, and may even be able to shift, create or give dreams, and be part of the dream, earning the title of 'Dreamwalkers'. They are extremely loyal to their charges, and are very adept in telling the future based on the events transpiring now. They are also extremely resourceful escape artists and could always predict the next attack and are revered as strategists in any war council.

Due to the fluctuations of magic that Witchbornes bear, it seemed that dragons born under this particular element wielded energy-based magic far better than most. After all, Arcane was just as close to Chaos. Dragons born under this element are also gifted in the following:

BARGHEST TRAIT:

Arcane: Those with star-hewn eyes can read the heavens. These beasts are masters of the dreamscape, molding and crafting their dream realms with frightening realism.

Telescopic: vision is enhanced to telescopic levels capable of seeing even distant stars with the naked eye.
Starspeak: capable of reading the language of the stars.
Inception: capable of planting ideas in dreams and making dreamers believe them to be true.

TAROT MEANING:

Wands are associated with fire energy, and the Ace of Wands is the core representation of fire within the deck. The card shows a hand that is sticking out of a cloud while holding the wand.

When we look at this card, we can see that the hand is reaching out to offer the wand, which is still growing. Some of the leaves from the wand have sprouted, which is meant to represent spiritual and material balance and progress. In the distance is a castle that symbolizes opportunities available in the future.

It had been decades before the Witchborne had deemed it safe to marry once again under the blessings of the dragon deities, which resulted into Witchborne more capable of honing their abilities that they would grow into, all under the element they were born into. The Children had proved to be more adept, or at some times, surprising as some elements, despite its opposition to a Witchborne's abilities, gave up exciting results from the harmony made from conflict. The newer, harsher elements, such as Remordeo, Obscurus, Lychnus and Magus, made for stronger Children who aimed to harness more anarchic energies, one such as Chaos.
