Biography
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gudja was born in EnergyHive with three other siblings. Their mother, Vida, was a powerful and renowned mage of two divine lineages. Vida encouraged her children to follow in her footsteps, training them to become powerful mages like her. Gudja was raised in Waterdeep with their siblings and took an interest in Plague and Arcane magic. Gudja took closely after her mother in terms of powers gleaned from their lineages. As a Bladesinger, Gudja possessed finesse and agility, excelling in combat with the rapier. As a Plague Seer, Gudja could foresee sickness and dark times to come. Under the mentorship of Vida, Gudja's powers continued to grow. Vida heavily instructed her dragonets on the proper ways of magehood and forbade them from any activities she perceived as "beneath them". However, Gudja longed to see the world outside of Waterdeep, if only for a little while. Following the guide of another family of Avariels, Gudja touched down in the Spirespun Clan. As per custom, they were routed through The Nova Den, the greeting place for new arrivals. Shatterstar, the leader of The Nova Den, accepted Gudja into the clan with open arms. In her first few weeks of living in the Spire, Gudja would spend hours flying around the massive city of Aatremys Saerrudai, exploring each of the diverse tiers. They even met the Avariel who had led them to the clan, Amaryllis. During one of their tours, Gudja stopped to visit the Lower City of Aatremys Saerrudai, Manaweave. The dragons there work as farmers, hunters, and gatherers. They were invited by a hunting party consisting of Clearwater, Swiftwater, Lyallii, and Firebringer. Firebringer offered to teach Gudja how to hunt, but they denied it, Vida's stern teachings echoing in their mind. Finally, after watching the hunters for a few days, Gudja hesitantly asked to join them. The hunt, though unsuccessful, was a delight for Gudja. Ecstatic, Gudja returned to Manaweave every other day to hunt with Firebringer, the two developing a close bond. Shatterstar recruited Gudja to The Nova Den where they worked as an assistant and manager of paperwork. Gudja occasionally visited Waterdeep and their siblings, continuing their study of Plague and Arcane magic. Firebringer also helped Gudja with their magic, specifically their Plague Seer abilities. One day, Gudja received a vision of a sickness that would befall their family in Waterdeep. He and Firebringer traveled to the city, relieved to see that her family was alright, however, their youngest sibling---Kaveh---was sick. Fortunately, Gudja was able to glimpse the cure and with the help of Ripplewing and fellow Avariel Actinopterygii, they managed to save their sibling, though the experience frightened them. Determined, Gudja stayed in Waterdeep, rising through the ranks and joining the Masked Lords, utilizing their Bladesinger abilities and Plague Seer magic to try and help steer the citizens of Waterdeep away from sicknesses and despair. Not even his closest assistant, Actinopterygii, knows his identity as a Masked Lord. Gudja works closely with her to find and create remedies to the sicknesses he foretells. Occasionally, Gudja visits the Spirespun Clan to see their mate, Firebringer, and Shatterstar again, though they rarely stay for long, having duties to the City of Waterdeep now. |
