Stormfall was born a member of the Thornspeakers, an openminded Nature clan displaced into Earth Flight territory. The grandson of the clan founders, Stormfall grew up well taken care of, and split his time between school and play in the Thornspeakers' home and scientific expeditions with his adventurer parents.

From an early age, Stormfall loved teaching. As a child he'd stay up late, reading books and memorizing facts to recite to his clanmates the next morning. By the time he was a teenager, when he wasn't following his parents on adventures across Sornieth, he was in the classroom helping teach the younger hatchlings.

As a young adult, he went to a university in a large Earth-flight city to learn the fine points of the art of teaching. He threw himself into his studies, took a job at a local school for a while, and eventually, followed a help-wanted ad to a small rural school in the Starfall Isles. He stayed at a local inn for a while before finding himself a place to stay on the island of Acuity Ridge.

At first Stormfall tried to focus just on his work, but he soon found himself distracted by the one dragon in his new clan close to his age: Quigley, a sad-eyed imperial with graceful wings and a smile that seemed to light up the world. One day he shyly offered to join her on a hunting trip, and the two found that they got along swimmingly. It wasn't long before Stormfall's crush developed into real love. It took Quigley a little longer to come around--she was fond of Stormfall, but she'd been burned by mates before--but come around she did, and now the two are happy mates with two clutches of children and one adopted son.

Stormfall can come across as stoic and stony-faced, but he's got a sense of humor like you wouldn't believe, and always tries to be kind and gentle to everyone. He's very skilled at survival techniques, having spent his youth adventuring.
