Biography
The Performance Chef
Boysen probably could've made head chef in most other kitchens, but he really really does not want the pressure of being in charge of the kitchen for such a large lair. Knifehead is an excellent head chef, and he was happy to support and assist her during busy mealtimes. Boysen has the taste buds of a natural gourmand, but he is a bit too soft-hearted and fluffy for leadership, and is more than happy to take a back seat when it comes to running the kitchen. His style is a lot less formal and more experimental than Knifehead's, and the senior chef is more than willing to learn from him just as he's thrilled to learn from her.
Boysen credits his family ancestry for his eclectic style in the kitchen-- he had a circus upbringing, but he and his siblings were in the kitchen for the most part, helping his dad and uncle cook for an entire circus! Boysen misses the Viral Circus terribly (his memory is better than average for a tundra, owing to his dad's eidetic Snapper memory), but the opportunity to visit the ancestral homeland of his breed and tag along behind his papa was too good to pass up. Besides, his pop did say that joy was in short supply in the frozen wasteland of the Icewarden's domain. And his great-uncle did say that he had a ton of potential...
It was very upsetting for him to have to leave his favorite brother Seaberry behind, and when they were packing up to go, Boysen started crying because he didn't want his brother to forget him. But Slurpee wrapped him in a big hug-- he and Seaby both had better memories than most, and he could send him little chunks of fur to keep the smell alive. Seaby had trouble smelling, but his nose was still okay. Boysen's brother wasn't ready and couldn't be forced. They kept in touch, and as he started his career, the separation got easier. But he took care never to forget.
It turned out that both sides of his heritage ended up influencing him. Boysen found his niche in the between times and late nights, when the kitchen was less busy and he could find the time to give his fiends a show. From flipping food into their mouths and juggling knives, to flare-ups on the grill that somehow never catch his fluffy fur on fire, Boysen's spontaneous act delighted both adults and hatchlings. Eventually, he moved from a sous chef position to a full-fledged open kitchen of his very own, with scheduled shows for small groups of dragons who had the time to spare for dinner and a show. Mischievous and silly, Boysen nevertheless grew into the role well-- his daytime shows were in hot demand for hatchling birthday parties, and his bawdy after-dark shows made warriors and medical staff laugh out loud.
It turned out that clowning ran as deeply in his blood as food did, and his new career married them both spectacularly. Being able to share something with his mom made Boysen happy beyond words. His act evolved over time into a big production... and as it grew, Boysen's mom told him that he could be part of a great registry of performing clowns if he made a bit of a change to his outfit. He learned the signs and signals of Clownpant outfit code, and decided on a performance name-- Chef Piero. His white chef's coat and hat mark him as a cooking performer-- an uncommon niche among Clownpants, which he is very proud of.
Chef Piero goes on tour occasionally, sometimes putting on dinner shows for foreign dignitaries... but his favorite activity is cooking for his lairmates. Playing off his audience is the absolute best part of clowning and cooking for him. The Harvest Hardshell at his side (a gift from his mother) has been trained to do tricks as part of his act, as well as bring him his ingredients as he cooks. People are surprised that crustaceans can be trained, but as he likes to say, a good meal is a pretty universal motivator.
Recently, his favorite brother has finally decided to leave the viral circus and settle down in Clan AXQU, and Boysen could not be more thrilled about it. There were some complex things to process, and catching up had been hard, but Boysen and Slurpee had been absolutely ecstatic to have him around. Seaby forged his own path, and these days they've come to celebrate their differences.

Generation 4
I am a descendant of Dirtfoot! Dirtfoot is a humble Snapper who loves to protect nature and often wanders the forests looking to help any and all creatures that need him. His descendants seem to take after his wholesomely sweet nature, but as with most lineages, there's plenty of variation between individuals! Click the badge to learn more!

Generation 6
I am a Descendant of Ignis! Who is Ignis? Ignis is the dragon on site with ID#666. That's it. That's all. Demonic lore is common with this line, but for most of them, it's just goofy ghost stories they tell to scare hatchlings. There's no way that simply being the six hundred sixty-sixth dragon registered in Sornieth's great ledgers would confer demonic powers and energies onto a dragon and her descendants. Right? Right?!

Viral Circus Child!
Mirsa the tundra clown grew up in a circus. Before she could even fly properly she was adept at balancing on her front legs and honking a little horn with her muzzle. Capering about with her fellow performers, she has brought laughter and light to the realm of Sornieth in abundance. For Mirsa, though, that is not enough anymore. A circus is a family-- The bigger the family, the better the circus, too! That’s why Mirsa decided to grow her circus family as large as she can and disperse them across the world like dandelion seed pods. She herself is the youngest child of a legendary dynasty of performers, and it is only natural that she pass on the talents to the next generation. To learn more, click the button! |
