Ruvaen had befriended fellow hunters Hector and his brother-in-crime and, unfortunately, brother-by-blood Kirsch from the nearby city of Monterosa in Dragonhome. During a detour through the city, he had encountered them outside of the Dainty Doe inn where he had overheard them grumbling about an upcoming hunt. The experienced hunter and tracker had offered to help them locate and get revenge on Achilles, the belligerent Coarsefur Yeti that had once brought mayhem to their hometown, costing Hector one of his horns. Driven by a similar sentiment of vengeance, he also took it upon himself to slay Koh, the spineless invertebrate who had attacked fellow clan members. Ruvaen, with his mind as sharp as an arrow, had carefully studied Koh's modus operandi and had, thus, decided to face him, in the most literal sense of the word, by wearing a protective bone mask to prevent the Face Stealer from reading his facial expressions.
